Solway Basin

Though Natural England used the term 'Solway Basin' to refer to one of the national character areas that they have established across England, the term 'Solway Basin' is more familiar to geologists in a different context, that of being a depositional basin within which sediments accumulated during the late Palaeozoic and Mesozoic eras. There is a broad geographical coincidence between the two uses and that of the modern 'Solway Plain' but they are different things and ought at some point to be distinguished. cheers Geopersona (talk) 10:02, 10 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]
