No lead yet and other deficiencies
[edit]I broke the history section out of the USMA main page because it had become too long for the main article. Admittedly, it needs much more work to stand alone as I've neglected it. I'll get back to this once USMA main gets up to FA status (its A-Class right now). Ahodges7 (talk) 05:18, 12 January 2009 (UTC)
Why no mention? This predated West point by a year and was in fact the first formal basic training center in the United States military. It would be prudent to say that with the success drilling enlisted rank and file at Legion Ville for the newly-created Legion of the United States, Washington would have been much more inclined to support the establishment of this academy for the formal training of an officer corp. There must be something in the records to link the whole redevelopment of the United States military post-Continental Army.86.161.151.190 (talk) 12:07, 8 April 2012 (UTC)
