Breathtakingly uninformative

This is one of the most breathtakingly uninformative articles I have ever read.

  • The section on demographics fails to give the population of the city.
  • The biggest section of the article, on income, gives incredibly detailed analysis of statistics on income, leaving the reader with virtually no idea what the figures mean.
  • There is not much else.

Please, please someone write a decent article on this city in which I used to live.

Since you have at least lived in Maitland and we haven't, perhaps you could expand the article, especially as you seem to know where it's gone wrong? --AussieLegend (talk) 11:19, 3 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Don't take umbrage so easily. I was quite small when I lived there and I don't have access to information that would help me write a better article. My criticisms still stand and would be obvious to anyone reading the article. I don't have a monopoly on knowing "where it's gone wrong".

No one's taking umbrage. I think what AussieLegend was suggesting was that the point of Wikipedia is that you spot these deficiencies and then you go and fix them. I'm sure we all agree that there's a lot to be done on this article. Perhaps it's just not quite so high on some of our to-do lists. Frickeg (talk) 05:47, 4 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Removal of Proposed Amalgamation Section

I have removed the "Proposed Amalgamation" section as the information is incorrect and the reference citations are not valid or dead links. 202.59.23.38 (talk) 00:30, 20 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
