Pollio polio

Article says: "The Pollio company changed its name to Polly-O in the 1940s to due to the original name's similarity to the polio epidemic."

Well, it's not that cut and dried. Cheese cans exist that still use the Pollio emblem as the main design, while including a colored band around the top repeating the trademark Polly-O. So there was a transition stage when both names were being used, and for a time anyway, Pollio was more prominent. 96.237.184.133 (talk) 14:47, 25 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
