Charade
[edit]Charade is just a collection of outtakes, of varying relevance to the released album. Prince never intended a Charade album, and the title, tracklisting and sequence are purely the invention of bootleggers. Surely it doesn't merit a mention at all, let alone the kind of presentation of it seen in the article? Lianachan 00:27, 12 March 2007 (UTC)
- Agreed. I've edited that section way back. --John T. Folden 19:05, 29 March 2007 (UTC)
Sheila on "Life Can Be"
[edit]it's assumed she plays drums on this track, but when she was asked in person after a bb kings show in nyc a few years back, she said she didn't remember but seems to think prince played drums while she played percussion. for what it's worth, she's credited officially with playing cowbell on "life" and drums on "venus". we all know credits can be misleading though. take it for what it's worth. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.90.139.243 (talk) 18:38, 22 March 2016 (UTC)
Genre Edit war
[edit]@Gentlecollapse6 and Ss112: You appear to be engaged in an edit war over the genre of the album. Please stop warring and follow WP:BRD: A bold change was made, it was reverted, now discuss and achieve a consensus. Be mindful of WP:3RR which you are both approaching. -- ferret (talk) 1I understand that, but my position is already known to the user I reverted and as stated here. Iwould I look for opinions of editors who want the genres to be removed? I wouldn't have reverted if I wanted them gone. Ss112 13:27, 6 June 2017 (UTC)3:11, 6 June 2017 (UTC)
- @Ferret: I was hoping for consensus to be reached with other editors, who may or may not disagree about the inclusion of jazz and soul. I'm not really interested in debating it myself; I just disagreed with their removal. I think the PopMatters review mentioning two genres and saying that the album has those on it (a "blend") is sufficient. That's really all I have to say. Ss112 13:13, 6 June 2017 (UTC)
- You might consider posting to WT:WikiProject Music or WT:WikiProject Albums asking for third party opinions then. Remember to keep the post neutrally worded and point interested project members to this talk section. Consensus is gained on talk pages. -- ferret (talk) 13:15, 6 June 2017 (UTC)
- @Ferret: I wouldn't go looking for users to disagree with me; I feel that's something for a user who has an issue with the sourced content to do. If consensus is reached by other users stating that they disagree with the genres' inclusion, then that's fine by me and I will respect it. Ss112 13:27, 6 June 2017 (UTC)
