Sherry Cola (born 10 November 1989)[1] is an American comedian and actress. She played Alice Kwan in Freeform's Good Trouble and was one of the four leads, Lolo Chen, of the 2023 comedy Joy Ride.

Early life

Sherry Cola was born on 10 November 1989 in Shanghai, China[1] and later moved to Temple City, California. Her parents ran a restaurant in San Gabriel, California.[2]

Cola attended California State University, Fullerton for seven years, saying about that time, "I didn't have my shit together, frankly." At CSU Fullerton, she did campus radio. After graduation, she worked at 97.1 FM in Los Angeles.[2][3]

Career

Sherry Cola is her stage name.[4] It was devised in 2011 as her username for the online food review website Yelp.[5]

Cola got a job on Carson Daly's radio show on 97.1 AMP Radio and later becoming an on-air host. She later began pursuing comedy by taking Upright Citizens Brigade classes and doing stand-up comedy.[3][5]

Cola got her break in television in 2017 after landing a seven-episode appearance on Amazon's I Love Dick.[6]

Personal life

Cola is bisexual.[7] She served as a Grand Marshal at San Francisco Pride 2022.[8]
