Before posting, first discuss with the protecting admin at their talk page. Post below only if you receive no reply.

  • To find out the username of the admin who protected the page click on "history" at the top of the page, then click on "View logs for this page" which is under the title of the page. The protecting admin is the username in blue before the words "protected", "changed protection level" or "pending changes". If there are a number of entries on the log page, you might find it easier to select "Protection log" or "Pending changes log" from the dropdown menu in the blue box.
  • Requests to downgrade full protection to template protection on templates and modules can be directed straight here; you do not need to ask the protecting admin first.
  • Requests for removing create protection on redlinked articles are generally assisted by having a draft version of the intended article prepared beforehand.
  • If you want to make spelling corrections or add uncontroversial information to a protected page please add {{Edit fully-protected}} to the article's talk page, along with an explanation of what you want to add to the page. If the talk page is protected please use the section below.

Check the archives if you cannot find your request. Only recently answered requests are still listed here.

Request unprotection of a page, or reducing the protection level

Indefinite semi-protection: way fewer transclusions now. —Trilletrollet [ Talk | Contribs ] 17:21, 6 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

533 transclusions is still a fairly high number. Favonian (talk) 17:25, 6 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
But few enough that EC is likely enough protection. Thoughts, @TheresNoTime? Courcelles (talk) 17:32, 6 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Indefinite semi-protection: Noticed this one is template protected too. It has even fewer transclusions than Template:Taxonomy/Theriimorpha above. —Trilletrollet [ Talk | Contribs ] 17:39, 6 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Same question, @TheresNoTime. Courcelles (talk) 18:25, 6 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Reason: The last protection of the page was imposed 14 years ago which is now better to break. This topic is not ongoing, so removing protection seems fine. 2001:EE0:4BE2:37E0:49A4:5AB0:3C6E:D99E (talk) 15:28, 7 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Reason: The protection is no longer necessary because she is now a fully established actress who is well known and respected among the creative community on an international level through her most recent breakout acting roles ....... . Zxgnarlz (talk) 09:24, 8 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Please specify what you are refering to. You should've made an appropriate article by modifying the target you want to request. 2001:EE0:4BCC:2E80:49A4:5AB0:3C6E:D99E (talk) 10:02, 8 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Declined – Inactionable request. Favonian (talk) 14:04, 8 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Reason: There are some reasonable changes that have to be made, but I find it hard to do them for anyone whose interest is higher than none. TBH I've already made some — with the help of one and only man who helped me with that. It seems that my interest at some point started to irritate him, so he said something like "you make any other user sick and I'ma get blocked soon" ([1]) or smth like that. On what request? This: [2]. In 2022 — '24 topic city got befrateritized with some Norwayan, Finnish, German cities. The same and only admin guy told me that it was kinda risky change and also admitted to not speak or understand Ukrainian (pretty much every major administrative editor of that article was Russian btw, despite it's on English WP). Some fake categirization takes place in that tray ( Kryvyi Rih#Twin towns – sister cities. Despite multiple RSs in Russian existent, noone cares about my requests. And one more thing, topic has nearly never been vandalized, so it really is safe. ty anyway. Cheers. WellThatIsSoGood (talk) 23:29, 6 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Not done Article is a Level 5 Vital article, listed as Wikipedia:Contentious topics, and is obviously a target for POV edits. Your request makes it clear that you want to make changes that others disagree with, so we aren't going to open that can of worms. Dennis Brown - 00:52, 7 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Argument Well, actually you’re wrong. He didn't say it was incorrect — literally, he said "maybe nobody wants to take the risk" ...This you may interpret as being unsure (due to lack of knowledge(?) or language issues) despite the RS like this one (oh, you know how they say "twin town" in Germany? — Städtepartnerschaften) [3] in German. Or just-a Google: Städtepartnerschaften kryvyi rih — There's plenty of 'em (RSs). So it's not like POV edit. And you know what? In fact, someone will eventually have to add these changes as the changes actually have been made in real life, which has to be published (or, reflected, as everything in WP)…so…?
It's about some guy made up some weird virtual categories, which noone can use or count on. If you look up for twin town in Ukr WP, you will see Порі́днені міста́, міста́-партне́ри, міста́-побрати́ми (Kindred cities, partner cities, twin cities — two cities, mostly from different…) — see? We don’t make any difference! And if you don't believe me after all, well, can you please add some to "Friendly cities"?
