New Jerusalem *cannot* be described as either "democratic" or "proto-socialist," either in theory or practice. In that period and part of the world, the Ditmarsken "marsh men" region, could possibly be described in that fashion (although I doubt it) -- but never Münster. This was an undiluted, 200 proof theocracy. Augwhite (talk)

In the following weeks/months I will endavour to update this article with a translation of the one from the German Wikipedia. Assistance for this project will be most welcome.
