Note: I don't know whether "endonym" is actually used, I coined it myself. ---Alex 05:32, 16 August 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Strictly speaking, that word may not even exist in English. I cannot find it in my dictionary. However, Yahoo search finds some websites with it, so it may well be a legitimate word. REX 19:37, 8 September 2005 (UTC)[reply]

That's a relief, because using invented words is never a good idea ;) .Alex 22:04, 9 September 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Simpsons quote removed

There were several reasons to remove the Simpsons quote.

A) It implied that one group was always in North America and did not immigrate. Everyone immigrated, some were just there first.

B) The "confusion" about ethnonyms was already demonstrated by several other cited references in the article.

C) Quoting the Simpsons might leave the reader wondering whether what's being said is intended as a joke.

D) The quote is basically "Trivia" under a different name.
