On May 10th 2024, Russian Armed Forces opened an offensive front North of Ukraine's second largest City of Kharkiv. As of the first day, reports of 4 villages captured by Russia following a series of probing attacks.[1][2]

History

The start of the Kharkiv Offensive began in early may of 2024, nearly two years after Ukraine's liberation of much of the Kharkiv Oblast. Intensive fighting took place where garrisons met the Russian advance. Several border villages and towns were evacuated following the first signs of incursion, leave many as Ghost Towns. Sources from both sides acknowledged that at least 4 villages (Strilecha, Krasne, Pyl'na, Borysivka) were captured the first day, making it the most amount of activity on the front since the start of the conflict.[3][4][5]
