"Deployment"
[edit]Does this page really need a deployment section? This is an industry group, not a standard, and the relevent pages for GSM, UMTS, not to mention GAN, W-CDMA, HSDPA, HSUPA, etc, already have the appropriate information for the standards involved.
We should be cutting down on the number of Deployment sections (or moving them to seperate pages), not adding them to practically everything. Squiggleslash 14:12, 4 January 2007 (UTC)
"Standards"
[edit]The order of the Table that gathers the standards should be inverted. It is more comfortable to read if the more recently standards appear up, while the older ones show up below. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Avalcarce (talk • contribs) 12:18, 8 September 2009 (UTC)
Rewrite deployment section on a per technology basis?
[edit]On 06:21, 9 October 2013 User:Ffirmin suggested that the "deployment section should rather be on a per technology basis, not for 3GPP as a whole" and deleted the entire deployment section. At 23:23, 9 October 2013 I restored the deleted section with an edit summary that said: "lets not delete this until the deployment section has been rewritten to be on a per technology basis". --Jeff Ogden (W163) (talk) 05:24, 11 October 2013 (UTC)

Update needed
[edit]According to the section "Deployment":
"3GPP systems [...] are primarily Release 6 systems, but as of 2010, growing interest in HSPA+ and LTE is driving adoption of Release 7 and its successors."
Surely the situation has changed in the last decade? Insulation2 (talk) 14:34, 19 June 2021 (UTC)
