@Snow Lion Fenian: Request taken. for design 3, despite SVG transformations being a pain in the ass. QuickQuokka [talk • contribs] 13:06, 29 November 2023 (UTC)
- @Snow Lion Fenian: Done but I need author and copyright/licensing information before I upload. QuickQuokka [talk • contribs] 13:41, 29 November 2023 (UTC)
- Preferably just edit my Commons sandbox with the information and ping me afterwards. QuickQuokka [talk • contribs] 14:29, 29 November 2023 (UTC)
- @QuickQuokka: Thank you, and sorry for the delay in responding. Well, all three designs originate from BBC Derby. According to the original website, the designer of the original concept was Leon Summers, with BBC Derby modifying his submission to create what was known as "Design 3". Which is also exactly what BBC Derby did with Martin Enright's submission, modifying it to create "Design 1" (which was of course chosen as Derbyshire's flag). Hence, I'd recommend giving the new file the same CR tag as "Design 1". Hope this helps. Snow Lion Fenian (talk) 15:29, 5 December 2023 (UTC)
- @Snow Lion Fenian: The description page of the file says it's released to the public domain by the author, and supposedly also the author (I don't really believe the uploader is the author), but there's no source to verify that unfortunately. QuickQuokka [talk • contribs] 16:25, 5 December 2023 (UTC)
- @QuickQuokka: Good point, and profuse apologies for the excessively long delay in getting back to you. Well, I certainly don't pretend to be an expert on CR licenses on Wikipedia. The impression I've gotten is that the uploader wanted to waive their rights to the file, but went about it the wrong way, resulting in using a license that creates a slight bit of confusion. After considering it all, I'd now recommend giving the new file the "Attribution-ShareAlike 3.0 Unported", in order to cover the same bases while making it clear that the uploader is not the original designer. Hope this helps. Snow Lion Fenian (talk) 18:43, 31 January 2024 (UTC)

- @QuickQuokka: Oh yes, if you think you can correct the flower, then don't let me stop you. But no pressure if you can't. Snow Lion Fenian (talk) 14:34, 3 February 2024 (UTC)

This last example shows the chequy band being red & silver, not red & gold. Indefatigable2 talk 16:37, 18 May 2024 (UTC)- A note: the coat of arms of Magalhães should certainly be red and silver (argent and gules), not red and gold, as the one given as Ferdinand Magellan's in the engraving above; but the arms of Ferdinand Magellan himself are disputed. They are clearly described in his last will and testament as those of Magalhães and Sousa, but no one knows for sure which Sousa: ancient (most likely), Arronches, or Prado. - Hi!, Can someone please revectorize the flag of the Việt Tân? As you can see, the flag was actually vectorized already but it is slightly inaccurate. @CubanoBoi made a great effort but it is unfortunately in need of some touch-ups. The flower design in the middle is meant to have two petals at the top and bottom instead of one and the blue in the flag is brighter than in the official version. The PNG version seems more accurate when comparing with photographs of the flag. With regards with the flag's copyright status, I'm not actually sure if the "Do not copy this file to Wikimedia Commons" is correct. The Việt Tân is a Vietnamese political party but is not publicly active in Vietnam itself as Vietnam is under a one-party rule by the Vietnamese Communist Party which bans all other parties and this banning likely also including the Việt Tân's symbols. This would imply that the Việt Tân are based outside of Vietnam. If this is true then one might have to check which country so both files can by copied to Commons. Thanks in advance!--93.107.222.213 (talk) 19:58, 15 June 2024 (UTC)

- Done. This is simple geometry, there is no reason to prevent its upload to Commons. Perhaps someone misunderstood its status of "banned in Vietnam" as "unfree in Vietnam". Fvasconcellos (t·c) 00:11, 16 June 2024 (UTC)
Hi again! Thanks to @Fvasconcellos for doing the request and in such a fast time too! Two last things to do now. I not sure if this is actually there or just a glitch on my browser but I think there is a transparent line at the bottom of the flag that needs to be in blue or cropped, can you check that please? Also, the official website of the Việt Tân (viettan.org) uses a square version of the flag as its logo so it also be helpful to do that as well (using the flag as a base). I have posted the square logo above for your convenience. Thanks again!--93.107.222.213 (talk) 19:20, 16 June 2024 (UTC)
- Definitely a SVG>PNG rendering issue, should be fixed now. Let me know. Fvasconcellos (t·c) 19:54, 16 June 2024 (UTC)
