Genre Change

[edit]

I suggest changing the genre of this song from Psychedelic rock to avant-garde, because this song as others from the album More ("Party Sequence" and "Quicksilver") are very experimental. Other songs of the same genre, "Syncopated Pandemonium" and "The Grand Vizier's Garden Party, are listed as Avant-garde. I wainting the opinion of other wikipedians to change the genre.--Italodal (talk) 21:33, 6 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I think "avant garde" is an over-used term. I mention it specifically in a write-up on genres I have on my user page. Avant garde (in music) is properly a classical music term, and not for rock music that is a little strange. "Psychedelic rock" adequately covers the genre of the two songs from More, and incorporates the concept of rock music with an experimental slant. The other Pink Floyd songs you mention, are probably not using the term correctly. There is no article for "Syncopated Pandemonium" that I can see. --A Knight Who Says Ni (talk) 09:06, 8 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
