Lindtsey Stacey Aubrey Sevilleja (born July 13, 2003), known professionally as Stacey, is a Filipino singer under Star Music. She is one of the main rappers of the Filipino girl group Bini.[1]

Early life and education

Stacey was born in Nueva Vizcaya, Philippines as an only child.[2] During her early years in school, she was a majorette for Lamut Central School in Ifugao where she attended her primary education until their family moved to their current address in Nueva Vizcaya where she continued her secondary education. There, she participated in numerous beauty pageants, supported by her mother, a fashion designer who also created many of Stacey’s outfits. In addition to beauty pageants, Stacey pursued modeling. She also developed talents in singing and dancing, participating in auditions like Star Hunt. During this time, she was selected to represent the Philippines in an international teen beauty pageant but chose to join the boot camp for Star Hunt Academy instead.[2][3]

Career

2018–2020: Star Hunt Academy trainee

Stacey was one of 250 aspirants to undergo a five-day boot camp and was selected as a trainee in early 2019. Under SHA, Stacey developed her skills in singing and dancing under Filipino voice coaches Kitchy Molina and Anna Graham, and dance coaches Mickey Perz and Matthew Almodovar. She also trained under the intensive Korean training system with the help of MU Doctor Academy, where she learned Korean practices and disciplines in singing and dancing.[4]

Stacey joined her fellow trainees in performing at various ABS-CBN mall shows and other events across the country. She also appeared at the 2019 National Youth Commission's FitFil: Youth Against Drugs event as one of the youth ambassadors. The trainees were also invited to perform at the 2019 Southeast Asian Games thanksgiving celebration.[5]

During the COVID-19 pandemic, Stacey continued her training in quarantine along with her co-trainees inside Camp Star Hunt to ensure their safety.[4] On October 10, 2020, Stacey was one of the last eight members of the Star Hunt Academy Girl Trainees to graduate from the Academy and was officially announced as a member of an idol group.[6]

2020–2021: Pre-debut as Bini and official debut

In November 2020, Stacey officially became a member of the Filipino girl group Bini, which released the pre-debut single "Da Coconut Nut".[7]

On December 4, 2020, Stacey and her fellow Bini members signed an exclusive contract with Star Magic.[8]

During their pre-debut era, Stacey and her fellow Bini members performed "Da Coconut Nut" and other song and dance covers on various ABS-CBN shows, including It's Showtime, ASAP Natin 'To, and Magandang Buhay.[9]

The group officially debuted on June 11, 2021, with the release of their debut single "Born to Win" during the two-part event Bini: The Launch.[10]
