Sooraj Cherukat,[1] better known by his stage name Hanumankind, is an Indian rapper, lyricist, and record producer. He started gaining popularity with the 2024 music video "Big Dawgs". [2][3]

Early life

Sooraj was born in Malappuram in the Indian state of Kerala to a Hindu family. His dad worked in an oil company. So he was raised all around the world, including places like Nigeria, Saudi Arabia, Dubai, Egypt, Qatar, Italy. [4] Even though he was raised all around the world, he had spend most of his childhood in Houston, Texas. He went to Houston Community College for schooling.[5] In 2012, he came back to India and joined PSG College, Coimbatore for graduation in Business Administration.

Career

He started his career as a professional rapper with the performance at NH7 coinciding with his first release from his debut album "Kalari" in 2019. He gained popularity among the Indian, as well as International audience with the music video "Big Dawgs" featuring Kalmi which was released in July 2024. He has also worked with international artists like JPEGMafia and Kenny Beats. [6]
