Suspected sockpuppets

Both the Account and the IP range have a particular interest in edits about Bryant & Stratton College [1],[2] and Waynesburg University [3], [4]. Asteroid comet also uploaded a image of the Bryant & Stratton logo ([5]) which was added to the article by the IP range about 15 minutes later [6]

AsteroidComet recently appeared at the Bryant & Stratton College talk pages to agree with arguments made by the IP editor. I suspect this is the one person pretending to be two people in the same discussion. MrOllie (talk) 17:46, 28 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I'm going to hone the evidence a bit. It's not just that the account and the IP agreed; certainly we hope that editors sometimes agree. It's that they agreed on some out-there logic, particularly that a specific editor who is accused (not yet found) to have a conflict on another page is thus a blanket "COI editor" and thus all their edits on an unrelated page are invalid. It's strong duck-test material. Also, the account editor claimed to have found the Bryant & Stratton discussion because he saw it referenced at the COIN discussion, despite the fact that all but one of the account's edits in the past 20 months have related to Bryant & Stratton, and his history shows zero involvement at COIN.-- Nat Gertler (talk) 18:01, 28 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Also, some likelihood of a link to , as a discussion at Wikipedia:Administrators'_noticeboard/Archive319#COI_and_Sockpuppetry_of_User:CollegeMeltdown shows an IP who was blocked when trying to stop CollegeMeltdown's edits (who the accounts under investigation have focused on) via a COI filing was blocked for apparently being such a sock. -- Nat Gertler (talk) 19:45, 28 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@NatGertler: has stated he has received a ceist and desist letter from the collage. [[7]] LakesideMinersCome Talk To Me! 22:55, 2 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
