Requested move

The following is a closed discussion of the proposal. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on the talk page. No further edits should be made to this section.

Billy Hayes (smuggler)Billy HayesBilly Hayes is currently a disambiguation page with only one actual link to an article; Billy Hayes (smuggler) of Midnight Express fame. I don't see the point in creating disambiguation pages when no other articles exist with the same name and I would have moved this myself, but recently a similar instance (Walker House) was reverted by an editor, so I'm proposing here first. Survey

Add  # '''Support'''  or  # '''Oppose'''  on a new line in the appropriate section followed by a brief explanation, then sign your opinion using ~~~~. Please remember that this survey is not a vote, and please provide an explanation for your recommendation.

Survey - in support of the move

  1. Support I think description is out of place next to a person's name. It makes it part of the person's identity. Plus it's a matter of mercy. If it were me, I wouldn't want the negative qualifier glaring at me thirty years after the crime. Telogen 06:06, 16 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]
  2. Support I support the move because, while he was obviously smuggling according to the movie, he was only convicted of possession, and this was according to the Turkish legal system. Nevertheless, wikipedia parenthetical attributions are usually according to their occupation or their main emphasis for why they are in wikipedia. Perhaps instead of smuggler, it could be (author). Survey - in opposition to the move

  1. Oppose. It is not clear that this is the primary use. Also the 'description' after the name for the support vote above is not an issue here since that is the standard way to dab an article when there are multiple uses. If the dab is not correct it should be changed and not be used as a reason to make an ill advised move. Vegaswikian 22:55, 17 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Template:Notmoved Note that the title Billy Hayes (writer) is unobstructed, should a move to that title be desired. --Stemonitis 16:25, 19 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Whitelisting

In early March, Outrate.net was blacklisted for adding too many links to Wikipedia, which represented a COI according to Wikipedia policies. But this has meant that a number of valid Outrate.net links were automatically removed.

Our lengthy interview with Billy Hayes (Aug 05) was removed from the Interviews and External Links section of your Billy Hayes page. The deep link to the interview is here: outrate.net/billyhayes.html

I believe you are able to replace this link, if you would like to.
