Wikipedia:Requests for adminship/GeneralPatton

 • No problem, i'll agree to change the name if that's what you want. "Patton" or "General" or whatever you suggest. I'm actually named after the M-46 General Patton Tank, not the person though. GeneralPatton 18:27, 4 Dec 2004 (UTC)
Ok, thank you for your acceptance about my remark; obviously my opposition comes after the history and the actions taken by the person, notably in Italy. Ciao, M7it 18:31, 4 Dec 2004 (UTC)
Hi, I took a look at [1] and it is really troubling, I'm not sure if I can get a name change in the middle of the Rfa though, I will make a formal request. GeneralPatton 19:29, 4 Dec 2004 (UTC)
I've now made an official request over at Wikipedia:Changing username, but apparently it will take some time as the queue is quite long. GeneralPatton 22:13, 4 Dec 2004 (UTC)

ArbCom vote

You can't vote in the election unless you've been contributing for 90 days. Sorry. :( Neutrality/talk 23:25, Dec 4, 2004 (UTC)

Only edits under a username count. :( Neutrality/talk 23:35, Dec 4, 2004 (UTC)
I'm not the best person to ask. Probably you should talk with Danny, Elian, or UninvitedCompany, the election coordinators. Neutrality/talk 23:42, Dec 4, 2004 (UTC)

You have to have had an account for that amount of time. Sorry. Danny 23:31, 5 Dec 2004 (UTC)

Sorry to drop in, but maybe if you look at User:Kate with great big puppy dog eyes like, sie might be able to reattribute your anon edits to your real username in time for you to vote. (Kate is going to kill me for making hir work overtime now, eep!) Kim Bruning 02:04, 6 Dec 2004 (UTC)

Let's hope that with kitty eyes one can do the same :) Thank you for your help. --M7it 09:16, 6 Dec 2004 (UTC)

I hope Kate can help you. You should certainly be able to vote. Good luck. Cribcage 08:13, 9 Dec 2004 (UTC)

For those who care, my problem was solved by User:hashar. Thanks, M7it 21

The Humungous Image Tagging Project

Hi. You've helped with the Wikipedia:WikiProject Wiki Syntax, so I thought it worth alerting you to the latest and greatest of Wikipedia fixing project, User:Yann/Untagged Images, which is seeking to put copyright tags on all of the untagged images. There are probably, oh, thirty thousand or so to do (he said, reaching into the air for a large figure). But hey: they're images ... you'll get to see lots of random pretty pictures. That must be better than looking for at at and the the, non? You know you'll love it. best wishes --Tagishsimon (talk)

Your wish is my command. —Charles P. (Mirv) 03:37, 3 Jan 2005 (UTC)

Translation suggestions

I saw that you did an Italian translation of the (mostly my) article on Project MAC. May I suggest that the articles about Robert Fano and Silvio Micali would go well with that one, and have local interest for .it? 18.26.0.18 04:34, 27 Jan 2005 (UTC)

Yep, I've jot down your kind suggestion on my 2dolist. TY, M/

Thank you

Hi M7, thank you for voting for me in my adminship nomination. I very much appreciate your support. Best, SlimVirgin 03:37, Mar 24, 2005 (UTC)

Re: On meta.wiki

Thank you for the offer, M7. I'd be very grateful if you could move the fake account for me to create a new one. There also seems to be a similar case on the Japanese Wikipedia, though I don't know or mind if anything can be done about that. Thanks, Sango123 19:50, 1 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks again. :) Sango123 20:29, 1 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

My user name

First I must admit that my choice for this was in part sparked by the controversy surrounding Carabinieri. At the time I sympathized with the anti-globalization movement and had been reading some things about the G8 Summmit in Genoa and Carlo Giuliani's shooting so I thought it would somehow be ironic to name myself Carabinieri.

I can't imagine how this name could be misleading. What would it mislead to? Anyway, just looking through the beginning of the list of admins I found User:Canadian-Bacon (I guess a reference to a film by Michael Moore, who is certainly controversial in the US), User:Capitalistroadster (naming oneself capitalist could be found to be offensive by anti-capitalists), and User:Hamster Sandwich (hamster friends might be offended), I don't think any of these names are a problem.

Thanks for participating in the discussion,--Carabinieri 17:12, 7 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

BTW, User:Kusma actually even wrote that I had the perfect user name to become an admin. [2]--Carabinieri 17:49, 7 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]
