Advocacy and Assistance Requests

I am available for most advocacy and assistance requests. However, I do try to specialize in the following:

  • Problem Usernames, I can assist in dealing with a problem username report.
  • Administrative Actions, I can work with you to get a second opinion in certain cases where someone has been blocked by administrative action (you may email for this assistance).

Please see my Desk for more information. If you can, place a talk page comment stating that you have requested assistance directly.

Welcome to the Talk Page for Cascadia, and his On the Road alter ego, Cascadia4. Please leave me a message and I will reply to your talk page.

  • If you do not like something that I have done, tell me constructively.
  • If I have told you about something that I didn't like, don't sound like a robot, actually discuss the issue.
  • If we're discussing something, please try to Use Common Sense.
  • If I made a comment out of frustration that you found to be a little overbearing, let me know.
  • If I can do anything to assist you, also, let me know.
  • Come to me as an equal, but tell me straight forward.

I'm human and make mistakes too. I'll try to give you the same consideration.

Don't forget to sign any messages with Four (4) tildies, like this: ~~~~. That will translate into your USERNAME and a TIMESTAMP. It's very important that you do this.

New messages go to the bottom, and you only need a new heading for your first new message, not any replies.

Thanks

This], WP should have a grammar checker. Thanks for fixing it ;-) GDonato (talk) 20:47, 4 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

No problem. I just noticed it. I couldn't spell or have good grammar if my life depended on it, so I'm never a hard ass about it. CASCADIAHowl/Trail 20:52, 4 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Your edit summary should have been: They're not their unless they're going there, I think:-) GDonato (talk) 21:06, 4 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Could you help me?

I was trying to get a picuter to link to the subpage of my User Page, which is not going too well I might add, (I turned my old user page into a subpage) and I was wondering if you could help me. Thank you for your time. --Kkrouni 21:11, 4 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

On my User Page, I've been trying, but the previews were showing all mannor of text... --Kkrouni 21:25, 4 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, thank you, but (don't trouble yourself doing it, with instructions, I should be able to handle it) could you tell me how to make that link to the subpage, if that's possible--Kkrouni 21:33, 4 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you! Where would I be without you?!--Kkrouni 21:38, 4 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

leave lilkunta alone

Civility Warning
stop Lilkunta, you have been warned more times than I care to count about darn near everything. Incivil edit summaries, such as this one here are uncalled for and are not helping your case at all. Furthermore, you have been asked repeatedly to remove your comments above about the VA Tech Massacre and have not complied, although it is a direct violation of WP:SOAP. I will ask you again kindly remove the comments above, and discontinue incivil edit summaries. Should you comply this time, you will see less interaction with myself and other editors. CASCADIAHowl/Trail 02:24, 6 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

It was not & is not uncivil. I removed ur buddy's bullsh*t. U & s/he need to leave me alone. Since I've encountered u, wikipedia has been a headache.

Have u asked all the wikipedians 2 remove their "remember v tch" posts/banners? I edited my posts which I shouldnt have done. When all the "remember" stuff is gone, I'll also make a change.

U dont like what u c then stay the f off my page. I have told u & asked u more times than I care 2 count leave me alone. Go edit a page and stop stalking me.__Lilkunta 18:43, 6 May 2007.

First, I will make it very clear to you, I have no affiliation with Metros. I do not know him, and I very rarely come across him. Second, you seem to fail to grasp the concept that if you want people to leave you alone, you need to abide by the rules set forth by the community and when you are asked to stop something, to do so. You replied to my warning on my talk page with a non-standard font again. After repeated requests to not do so. I am not stalking you, I would prefer that you become a valued member of the community, but you have repeatedly made that difficult. Continued action of this nature will compel me to consider seeking a community ban. CASCADIAHowl/Trail 18:56, 6 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Chk the history. It was u & metros who kept editing my page. I kept changing it back bc I told u I was fixing it, but u refused 2 accept that & then the ANI was started . . remember now?

U rnt grasping that I am abiding by the rules. I've asked u repeatedly 2 stop but u havent . . ur want the rules followed but u rnt following them. Remember the ANI? U dont like things but the community was not against all those certain things. U dont speak 4 everybody. U r unnecc monitoring me & keep posting about my page and my edit summaries. Does n e 1 else have a problem? I've rec'd no complaints save 4 from u. It is only & constantly u, constant harrassment from u.

If u dont like my post, dont visit my page. I just want u 2 leave me alone._Lilkunta 19:23, 6 May 2007 (UTC).[reply]

Lilkunta, you haven't been following any of the rules. There is nothing on Wikipedia preventing me or any other editor from bringing up issues with you. Since you want to believe that I'm the only one against you, here's some hard facts:
These are just a select few, but they clearly show you have been warned by MANY MANY MANY people here. Please Discontinue your actions immediately and take this request to heart. I seriously would like to see you become a valued contributor, but that this rate, this is proving to be impossible. CASCADIAHowl/Trail 19:46, 6 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
And no matter how hard I try, I can't remove your html coding from running into everything else. CASCADIAHowl/Trail 19:49, 6 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
That's y u shouldnt have vandalised my page in the 1st place_Lilkunta 20:15, 6 May 2007 (UTC).[reply]

STOP UR VANDALISATIONS!

................................Discontinue your actions immediately ! Ur "hard facts" rnt the full story. How convenient that u post all the posts against me & leave out the posts 4 me.

O, and ...also & Leebos is 4 me not againt me. DO NOT POST TO ME. PLEASE LEAVE ME ALONE!

stop YOU ARE JUST VANDALISING MY PAGE. IT IS NOT FUNNY._Lilkunta 20:15, 6 May 2007 (UTC).[reply]

Squash It

I am not going to feed into this. I dont know if u r a troll or what. Just leave me be, & I'll def continue 2 leave u alone as I've been doing._Lilkunta 20:22, 6 May 2007 (UTC).[reply]

About archiving

When you said "I added a personal welcome further up, to prevent it from being removed by the archive bot right away" What exactly did that mean?--Kkrouni 00:57, 7 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Oh I get it. You should make that into a welcoming template! (But easier to paste). Seems like you're having a little trouble with Lilkunta I'll try to help as best I can if you need me.--Kkrouni 01:04, 7 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Log timestamps

I thought of something that may have caused the discrepancy between the timestamp and log/contribs timestamps. In your preferences, do you have a time zone set? If a time zone is set in your preferences, it will change the time/date stamps in logs and contribs that you see to the time zone you have set, but signature timestamps are not changed; so you still see signatures in UTC while you see contribs/logs in whatever time zone is set in your preferences. Just a thought, NickContact/Contribs 01:15, 7 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Quite good. Stayed home today because my back stiffened up, but all is good now. I'm just giggling a bit (okay, laughing) that the essay I started about passwords was not only migrated to Meta but is now appearing at the top of everyone's browser. HA HA HA, boy howdy! Signature

Hey, thanks for your comments regarding my self-nominated RFC regarding my signature. I am taking the points you highlighted into consideration while making a decision. Thanks again, Fluck 16:36, 8 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Aloha

Question for you... do you think this comment is for real, or is this just a wikifriend of yours? Feel free to answer here, I'll keep an eye out. Mahalo. --Ali'i 19:06, 8 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

That was made by someone I had a bit of an argument with over on WP:USRD regarding the use of common names for highways. He kept talking about page moves and use of terms like Highway 99, but I kept asking him about using terms like Red Mountain Freeway segment of Arizona State Route 202 for highways that have official secondary names. He would never answer and kept talking about WP:USSH and SRNC (State Route Naming Convention), and how two users were trying to buck consensus and destroy the peace in the project by starting another move war (something me and Jasper never wanted to do in the first place and made it clear. Finally, NORTH stepped in and told him to stop trying to squash debate on issues the way he was. You can read the whole argument on the wikiproject talk page. I guess he decided to comment on my Editor Review because he didn't like the fact that I had to resort to saying things like "You really don't understand what I'm saying" and asking if "the comment on your userpage is clouding your judgement" because it was clear he wasn't listening. Thanks for your concern and noticing it! Review MeCASCADIAHowl/Trail 19:44, 8 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Wow... I thought he was joking around! Sounds like you guys aren't the best of wikifriends. Sorry for making you re-hash the whole debate. I was just shocked at first at seeing someone have a 5k minimum for adminship, but then I noticed the less than perfectly civil remark but thought you two were just joking around (like some have sarcastically opposed an RfA). Guess I should have checked further. Mahalo nui loa. --Ali'i 20:02, 8 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Eh No problem. I really don't have any issues with him outside I disagree with his interpretations of things, other than that... meh... not worth causing a war over. Review MeCASCADIAHowl/Trail 20:06, 8 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I suppose that's a good policy to have. :-) --Ali'i 20:12, 8 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
