Azhagiya Thamizh Magan (2007) (English:Handsome Tamil Son) is a forthcoming high budget Tamil film directed by Bharathan. Bharathan has previously worked with Vijay in Ghilli as both an Assistant Director and dialogue writer. This movie is creating great expectations as Vijay and AR Rahman are joining hands and it's Vijay's 45th movie.This will be the first movie with Vijay and Shriya, it is also the first film Shriya is acting after Shankar's Sivaji: The Boss. Shooting for the film has started from January 24, 2007 and the movie is expected to be an August release.[1]

Launch
The movie was officially launched on January 24, 2007 at AVM studios, Chennai. The launch was attended by a host of celebrities including the protagonist (Vijay)'s wife Mrs. Sangeetha Vijay, heroines Shriya and Namitha, Vijay's father SA Chandrasekar, Directors Perarasu, Dharani, Ramana and actor Jayam Ravi, Sreeman and many others. The movie was launched with a small lamp lighting ceremony where the celebrities present lit a lamp to start the proceedings off auspiciously.[2]
Producer Appachan has announced that the movie will be released on August 15 2007. The film's shooting started in February 2007 and will end in July.

- Usually all singing in Kollywood films is done by playback singers. Vijay who usually sings in his movies is doing one song in his own voice, for a rap song tuned by A.R.Rahman.
- Its the first time that Shriya is paired with Vijay in this film.

- Cameraman Balasubramaniam, is also said to be working overtime, adopting latest techniques, to make this fight an impecible performance by Vijay's movement for the viewers.
