Manamadurai is a panchayat town in Sivaganga district in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu.

Geography

Manamadurai is located at 9°42′N 78°29′E / 9.7°N 78.48°E / 9.7; 78.48[1]. It has an average elevation of 70 metres (229 feet).


Demographics

As of 2001 India censusTemplate:GR, Manamadurai had a population of 26,284. Males constitute 50% of the population and females 50%. Manamadurai has an average literacy rate of 74%, higher than the national average of 59.5%: male literacy is 81%, and female literacy is 68%. In Manamadurai, 12% of the population is under 6 years of age.

This is a only town the vaigai river follow from north to south. This city is famous for POTs.And it consist of State Industries Promotion Corporation of Tamil Nadu (SIPCOT) Limited.
