Drake Parker is a semi-fictional character from the Nickelodeon series Drake & Josh and is portrayed by Drake Bell.

Drake Parker

Even though he has poor grades in all of his subjects, it has been implied that Drake has an aptitude for math; he received an 87% on his algebra test (after studying past 2 AM). In addition to this, Drake managed to calculate how long they could ride the Demonator and get home before their parents in the episode The Demonator (when asked by Josh how he could figure that out and still be failing math, Drake replied, "Because this is important."). This suggests he could do better in school, if he actually tried to do the work. Also, he was able to outwit a group of criminals from robbing his house.

Drake can speak French fluently, plus can imitate the Irish accent perfectly, and knows some words in Italian and Spanish. He is shown to be a good artist (mainly little cartoon sketches of Mrs. Hayfer suffering from some accident that could be fatal, and the painting he did of Abraham Lincoln in a bikini). Preferring to just relax and play his guitar, Drake does not bother to put any effort into his studies, or much of anything else, including mispronouncing "America" as AH-mar-EE-kah, mispronouncing cone as con, mispronouncing fuselage as fusilogy, mistaking an exasperation for an exaggeration, coming up with medical excuses featuring impossible medical problems (such as "twisting his liver" so that he could no longer read, write, or bathe), coming up with ridiculous final signatures (such as Bob the doctor - a reference to Bob the Builder), and coming up with ridiculous names such as Jefferson Steelflex and Alvin Yakatori. Drake is known to act out and initially he rarely got caught, but since the episode Dune Buggy he has been grounded numerous times (yet in "Steered Straight", it is implied that grounding does him and Josh no good). Drake always wants most of the action. When he thinks there's a burglar in the house he uses a golf club and gives Josh a sprayer that makes things smell like a "nice spring meadow."

Drake is shown as a "typical teenager"; he does not know what a transcript is, that New Jersey is a State, that New Hampshire is a state, that Hampshire and Jersey are places in England, where Vietnam is, where Switzerland is, that Rome is in Italy (and not Romania), what dehydrated means, that there even is a New Jersey, that there even is a New Hampshire, that you can't stop rain, that a ham radio is not made out of ham, that impersonating means pretending, that sushi and Mexican food are not American things, that "glockma" means goat, that fell is the correct past tense of fall (and not falled), that consuming means eating, what a primate is, what a pacifist is, what a sibling is, what a Caucasian is, that Leslie can be a man's name or a girl's name, what a mucker is, what the sound of a humpback whale is, what being done with somebody means, that Neptune is the eighth planet farthest from the Sun, who Mark Twain was, the difference between cumin and cinnamon, or how to spell "television" . He is also a poor driver; he had taken his driving exam six times before finally getting his license (even then was in an accident). Drake's style of clothing varies, although he usually wears tight blue jeans, he never wears shorts (except in the theme song of season one at the end he is wearing shorts). He also never wears anything sleeveless. He'll either wear long-sleeve or short-sleeve T-shirts. Drake regularly performs and rehearses with his band (he plays lead guitar). His favorite band is the fictional Zero Gravity, whose lead singer Devin Malone he met backstage at one of the group's concerts. In the episode Paging Dr. Drake, he claimed that Josh's foot "looks like Mom's meatloaf", after shooting him with a potato launcher he bought at the store, thus causing Josh to drop the weight he was holding onto his foot.He taught him self to plat the guitar at 9.

Strangely, Drake didn't seem as dim-witted earlier in the series. Drake is known to call Eric "Craig" from time to time, and in episodes like "Josh is Done" he repeatedly calls Josh, asking him to play Ping Pong, and in We're Married, Drake kept calling Josh to fetch him a can of soda. But Josh got confused when Walter called, thinking it was Drake, which caused Josh to shout insults at Walter. Also recently, Drake has been calling Walter by his first name instead of formal or respective titles like "Dad". He probably does this out of disrespect (such as in The Wedding, when Walter annoyingly honks the horn.), but will call him Dad usually when he wants something. Drake enjoys playing his guitar, singing, playing basketball, & eating.

Many fans believed that Drake actually despises Mrs. Hayfer as much as he is being hated by her. One example shows that in the episode "Honor Council", Drake had drew small sketches of Mrs. Hayfer going through three fatal accidents: A piano falling rather than raindrops, Mrs. Hayfer jumping in a pool of water but ends up being eaten alive by alligators, and aliens performing heavy surgery on Mrs. Hayfer. Another kind of evidence shows that in the episode Megan's First Kiss, Josh tried to tell Drake that Megan's current boyfriend, Corey, was dating another girl, thus making Drake excitedly ask, "Mrs. Hayfer DIED???" before Josh can explain the full situation.

Like Josh, Drake shares the same catchphrase "HUG ME, BROTHER!", but very rarely. It is revealed that Drake, unlike Josh, only said it three times: One in the episode "Pool Shark" where he takes advantage of Josh's pool-playing skills until he's found out, second in the Pilot of the show, even when previously in the episode he has mentioned he is "uncomfortable with the hugging" but in the end, Drake seems happy to be brothers with Josh and he says it, and later on in the episode "Josh Runs Into Oprah" where he hands Josh tickets to the Oprah Winfrey show (after apologizing for not remembering Josh's birthday).

Drake also seems to date/make out with quite a lot of girls. He makes out with/dates a girl in most episodes, and has stolen other boys girlfriends before. An example is in The Theater Thug episode, where he steals another guy's date, and in the Battle of Panthatar episode, he makes out with Thorton's girlfriend, Maria (rumors began to hint that Drake occasionally does not care if he steals other girlfriends from certain guys). He rarely seems to have the same girlfriend for more than one episode, the only time he ever did was Carley, in the episodes Who's Got Game and The Storm. She isn't mentioned after The Storm, but Drake makes out with several girls since that episode, including having a date in the episode The Great Doheny in between the episodes Who's Got Game and The Storm
