Another native of the area ,he had told to the local newspapers that Saint George had talk to him . Some sources think that is the biggest hoax of century , but other sources deem that is a true and a real miracle . This is a disputed issue , which confuse the truth and the lie .

Karaiskakis and the age of chantry

The legendary protagonist of the Greek Revolution (1821), Georgios (George) Karaiskakis went to the chantry for prayer and to turn to his namesake Saint before he and his warriors fought against the Ottoman Empire for freedom and independence of Greece . The tabernacle of Saint George was constructed between 1200 and 1300 A.D. Saint George, with Faneromeni Monastery and Saint Gregory (in Greek Agios Grygorios), are the oldest ecclesiastic buildings of the island.
