Guptas are strongest rulers of this country . noboby else except perhaps muslim kings come near to them in respect of the rule over India since time immemorial.

Please stop removing references to the Gupta Empire.

Gupta's Today

Please do not add scrupulous claims like this. If you have a reference, please reference it. As far as I know, there is "NO" scientific evidence that states that ambanis are descendents of Gupta's.

Removed the Following... "Along with the Aggarwals, they formed the bulk of India's merchant community, driving the region's economy. Today, most of the Guptas are well educated and form an integral part of the Indian upper- and middle-class society. Some of the richest Indians, like Lakshmi Mittal (Mittal Steel), Sunil Mittal (Bharti Telecom), Naresh Goyal (Jet Airways) and Sajjan Jindal (Jindal Steel) belong to the Gupta/Bania community."

PLEASE make SURE that you have references. I am removing all the people who don't have the surname Gupta. This is just a scruplous claim. If you have any evidence, please provide it. Vidyashankara 23:06, 20 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Dude.. Guptas are closely related to other bania communities. Goyals, Gargs, Jindals, Guptas are more or less the same. And stop talking about genetics. We are talking about caste-based communities not ethnic communities. --128.210.59.31 22:31, 22 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
