British Universities American Football League

The British Universities American Football League is the successor to the British Collegiate American Football League, which folded in 2007.

BAUFL Largely follows the rules of the North American College league NCAA Football. The season consists of 8 divisional games followed by a 4 tier play-off system similar to the NFL. BUAFL is split into 2 conferences, the Northern Conference and the Southern Conference, each consisting of 4 Divisions. The best 8 teams from each conference (4 Divisional Champions plus 4 Best Runners Up) compete in the play-offs for the conference championship and ultimately a chance at the College Bowl. The College Bowl is the final competitive game of the year where the best northern and southern team compete for the title. It is thought that the name of the 'College Bowl' will be replaced in keeping with the new 'improved' governing body. Though with its over 20 years history, the prestigious final will likely be dubbed the 'College Bowl' by its desirers for years to come.
