Thanks a million. :)

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Comment
  1. Why does SineBot keep signing stuff I've already signed?
All comments should have a signature that includes both a link to your user page (slakr) and a datestamp (05:12, 20 August 2007 (UTC)) (per signatures - internal links). This is most easily generated by placing four tildes (~~~~) at the end of your contributions, which makes something like "slakr 05:12, 20 August 2007 (UTC)". If you're still having problems after trying that, post a message to slakr.[reply]
  2. I do sign using ~~~~, but the result includes my username as plain text, not as a link.
You have probably changed the format of your signature. Go to "my preferences", then the "User profile" tab, and check the "Signature" field and the "Treat the above as wiki markup" checkbox. If "Treat the above as wiki markup" is checked, then the "Signature" field should contain wikicode, including something like [[User:Your Username|Your Username]]. If "Treat the above as wiki markup" is unchecked, then the "Signature" field should not contain wikicode.
  3. I don't want my comments signed by SineBot. How do I get it to ignore me or my talk page?
Please use one of the opt-out methods listed on its user page.
  4. SineBot forgot to sign something it should have signed.
Usually this happens because the bot isn't sure if it really should sign something, so it defaults to not signing it (e.g., in cases of complex edits). It does this to avoid being annoying. Other times, a comment might be made when the bot is down for maintenance, so the bot simply never sees it.
  5. SineBot signed something that it genuinely should not have signed.
Please let slakr know-- especially if you think it's not a one-time thing.

For hitting 100k sigs, I hereby award you a muffin. You're growing up so big and strong— I'm so proud of you. *cheek pinch* :P --slakrtalk / 20:54, 14 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

No comment needed, you should get the point

Is this really the kind of comment that needs to be signed?

Or this one?

sig message

A good proportion of your friendly "in case you didn't know" messages are being posted on the talk pages of experienced users who have momentarily forgotten to sign a post. It is quite annoying. Are you certain that posting these messages is helpful, on balance? Hesperian 07:18, 10 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Seriously, dude, you've put three consecutive "don't forget to sign" messages on User talk:CarolSpears. I really don't think posting these messages every time someone forgets to sign is a good idea. Hesperian 02:27, 12 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

thanks i will do your says but i am in turkey we havent got such as keyboards... thanks...--Toolga (talk) 15:08, 10 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hail, Glorious Bot! - request to include another page

Is there any way to persuade you to include the Wikipedia:WikiProject Council/Proposals page in your work, particularly including times as well? Alternately, are you aware of someone else who can do the same task? It would really help me know when the four month period for proposals ends, particularly considering how many people never sign their proposals at all in the first place. SineBot can't spell

Why is it SineBot, and not SignBot? And does SineBot get asked this a hundred times a day? • Anakin (contribscomplaints) 20:28, 16 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Obviously I'm not too worried about it though. Just asking half jokingly. Sign this SineBot, go on: —Preceding unsigned comment added by Anakin101 (talkcontribs) 20:31, 16 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

You are an editor that has a machine running it, I know that.

Could the human running you recommend something? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Johnnnathan (talkcontribs) 23:23, 16 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I knew you were human. You signed your own page!

Please help me out here, bud....or I'll simply ask someone else.
