Notables

To the IP editor who keeps adding "local scholar" Jason Michelakos, you need to outline why this person is notable enough to be included. Being a PhD candidate alone doesn't cut it. This person needs to have some importance to the wider world outside Trenton. And Vancouver sportscaster Jay Durant does list Trenton as his home - see this site. Finally, vandalising user pages is considered bad form. Please stop. Blotto adrift (talk) 21:58, 21 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Frankly, a search on Google, Google news, Google books, and Google scholar does not produce any compelling evidence that such a person as Jason Michelakos from Trenton even exists. As such, I support Blotto adrift entirely in what he has done here. Kind regards, --Malcolmxl5 (talk) 04:22, 27 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Having a PhD does not make one person notable as well. Fully support the removal of the "notable" person. Seicer (talk) (contribs) 04:23, 27 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Try Scholars Portal

Google??? Are academic journals on google NO. This is why. Please if you went to university you would know not to source from google.

Actually, many academic journals are accessible on the Internet. However, if it is your contention that Michelakos meets Wikipedia's criteria of notability, the burden of proof is on you. It is you who must demonstrate it. You can do that here. --Malcolmxl5 (talk) 00:37, 12 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Malcolmx5 please note wikipedia - "this is free to all to edit" Therefore I know something is correct and it is YOU that is not in the spirit of wikipedia. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.157.65.118 (talkcontribs)

"anyone can edit" does not mean that anything goes or anything is added. There are certain rules that one has to follow. It's been pointed out to you several times that this person is not notable enough for inclusion on Wikipedia. It is you who must provide proof that they are. So far, you have not done so. Please stop arguing with other editors about the removal of the name and instead take the time to show substantial proof to this person notability. If you show a proper claim to notability, nobody is going to remove the name. But until you do, the name will continue to be removed. -- Gogo Dodo (talk) 01:03, 12 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I have shown proof and it was deleted. The real problem here is you, you are posing as several users deleting edits and proof at will. Please Please search scholars portal, have you done this and it turns out that I am correct? Most likely and you still sit behind a wall saying, "provide proof." Stop deleting my proof and open your eyes.

Also you do not understand what the purpose of wikipedia was or is do you? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.157.65.118 (talk) 01:08, 12 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

You have shown no proof. It is your job to look up the information and provide proof. As for your claim that the editors here are all the same people, you have no proof of that claim and you will never find such proof. Please stop making such accusatory claims. -- Gogo Dodo (talk) 01:46, 12 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Perhaps, 69.157.65.118, you could provide some citations. As noted, the onus is on you to prove that he is sufficiently notable to be included on this page. You say you have shown proof - where? And again, being a prof or having a PhD isn't quite enough. As for Google, even if it isn't a place to do scholarly research, it's still a good place to find mention on university sites, references to other works, association memberships, media mention and other academic work. None of this was found. Scholar's Portal requires a user ID and password and is unavailable to those who aren't students or faculty. Also, a search on Gale and other academic databases found nothing. Finally, I am one person with one ID. Please stop making baseless accusations. Blotto adrift (talk) 02:29, 12 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Blotto adrift - admit when you make a mistake. Several other users have pointed out corrections and you still change the pages back to your edits. You and people like you are a shame to wikipedia.

ps - if you were a scholar, which your not - but somehow are allowed to edit, again going to the creditablity of this site - you would have access to scholars portal. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.157.48.57 (talk) 07:05, 12 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

pps - has anyone questioned why this is a starter page? I have and when someone helps out by adding content they are discouraged. sham sham on all you who stand behing Blotto adrift and dont follow wikipedia guidelines. tis tis
