There is a scientific discussion that the Battle of Mactan did not take place on the present island of Mactan which was called opo island until the international airport was built there and the island was renamed 'Mactan'. Supposedly the battle of Mactan was on the Camotes islands that were caleld 'Mactan' at that time. EtW
