Listing of fleet visitors to NYC Fleet Week

Are the sections on the ships that were part of the NYC Fleet week an important part of this article, or should they be spun off elsewhere? Mister.Manticore 18:55, 26 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

That New York city Fleet Week section is redundant and biased. "Most Well Known Fleet Week"?? To whom? New Yorkers? I will just remove the section and roll the new information into the main article. Please discuss if you feel that was unnecessary.

Fine by me, sitting in Hells Kitchen, half a mile from this week's Fleet Week action. Incidentally, labelling the www.fleetweek.mil site as being about New York is a subtle error. The site changes every time another town's Fleet Week gets going. This week just happens to be New York's time at bat. Jim.henderson 23:44, 27 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Fleet week earlier phenomenon?

I have provided an image and a reference for a Fleet Week (given for US ships, nota bene) held in Auckland, New Zealand, in 1908. This article says 1935 was the first Fleet Weel. As this isn't really my stuff, I invite the regulars here to clear up that little contradiction. Cheers Ingolfson 07:26, 3 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Clarification of sentence in third para. from end of article?

"Following in the footsteps of San Francisco, Fleet Week have since spread to other cities, notably New York City starting in 1984 and San Diego starting in 1997, Fort Lauderdale." Airmanc 12:30, 25 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

SF Stats

What is the source of the alleged one million visitors, specifically to the bay front? As a Bay Area resident I find this impossible to believe. I've been to Fleet Week and there's no way there are one million people. Hundred thousand, maybe. Sounds like hype to me.Berkeleysappho (talk) 17:18, 18 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]
