This is a list of minor characters in Tokyo Mew Mew.

Friends and families

Shintaro and Sakura Momomiya

  • Kanji: 桃宮 慎太郎 Momomiya Shintarō; 桃宮 さくら Momomiya Sakura
  • Name Translations: " shin" = humility, be careful, discrete, " ta" = thick, plump, " rou" = son, "さくら sakura" (kanji: ) = cherry blossom
  • Seiyū: Katsuyuki Konishi (father) and Takako Honda (mother)
  • Voice Actors: Jim Malone and Amanda Brown, who also voices Zoey Hanson (Ichigo).

Sakura and Shintaro Momomiya are Ichigo Momomiya's parents. They are not named in Mew Mew Power. [citation needed]

Sakura tries to understand Ichigo. Ichigo looks a lot like her mother. Shintaro always overreacts whenever Ichigo is late or mentions Masaya Aoyama. In one occasion in the anime, Shintaro challenges Masaya to a kendo match and Ichigo has to stop it.

Mint's grandmother

Mint's grandmother (name is never mentioned) looks after Mint Aizawa because Mint's parents are never home. Her role is more like that of a parent than that of a grandmother. She is known as Nana Bucksworth in Mew Mew Power.

Seiji Aizawa

Seiji Aizawa is Mint's older brother. He is known as Sergio Bucksworth in Mew Mew Power.

When he was young, Seiji used to watch Mint when she did ballet recitals. Seiji does not pay attention to Mint, as he is too busy attending private schools and getting more involved in the corporate world. In Episode 9, Ichigo devises a plan to have Seiji attend one of Mint's ballet recitals. Although reluctant at first, he decides to attend the recital. When the ballet-themed black swan Chimera Anima attacks, he tries to protect Mint and is injured. Before the ballet recital – after Mint defeats the Chimera Anima – Seiji tells Mint that she is still important to him and gives her flowers.

Eizaburou and Yomogi Midorikawa

  • Kanji: 碧川 英三郎 Midorikawa Eizaburō; 碧川 よもぎ Midorikawa Yomogi
  • Name Translations: " ei" = England, English, " zabu" = three, " rou" = son, よもぎ Yomogi
  • Seiyū: Nobuo Tobita and Michiko Neya

Eizaburou and Yomogi Midorikawa only appear in Episode 34 of the anime. Lettuce has a lot in common with her family: she looks a lot like her mother, everyone in the family wears glasses and everyone – except Lettuce's father – has green hair. Her father is a teacher of some sort.

Pudding's parents

Mother's seiyu: Rika Komatsu, she also sings the opening song.

Pudding Fong's mother died of an unknown illness and her father Master Wong Taren left to train in the martial arts. Pudding's mother's death saddened her and resulted in her solely taking care of her siblings and the house (as her father isn't around). Pudding loved her mother very much and she is very protective of her mother's belongings.[1] Pudding's mother had purple hair.

Pudding's siblings: Hanacha, Chincha, Lucha, Honcha and Heicha

Hanacha, Chincha, Lucha, and Honcha are Pudding Fong's younger brothers and Heicha is her younger sister. Pudding takes care of them because their mom passed away, and their father is on a pilgrimage. Pudding still retains her child-like personality disregarding the fact that taking care of her five siblings is a staggering job. In Mew Mew Power, Heicha is known as Heidi and the four boys are unnamed.

Miwa Honjo and Moe Yanagida

  • Kanji: 本条 みわ Honjō Miwa; 柳田 もえ Yanagida Moe
  • Name Translations: " hon" = book, origin, " jou" = article, " yanagi" = willow, " da" = rice field
  • Seiyū: Tomoko Kaneda and Akiko Nakagawa
  • Voice Actors: Sharon Feingold and Caroline Lawson

Moe and Miwa are Ichigo's friends at school, and they appear in both the manga and the anime, though they show up more often in the anime — they are seen in almost every episode. They are important to Ichigo and cheer her on with Masaya. In Mew Mew Power they are known as Megan and Mimi, respectively.

In Episode 23, Moe fell in love with Ryou Shirogane (when Ryou saved Moe from thugs) and Miwa fell in love with Keiichiro Akasaka (when Keiichiro helped Miwa pay for a box of tea). Ichigo suggested that they prepare gifts for Ryou and Keiichiro to win their hearts. They put a lot of effort in preparing gifts, but the two boys turns them down when they try to present the gifts, saddening the girls. Their spirits are stolen by Kish —– and used to form two humanoid Chimera Lovebirds. After Ichigo defeats Chimera Anima, Keiichiro and Ryou tell the Moe and Miwa that they enjoyed their gifts. Over their crush, Moe and Miwa make a vow to open a fanclub for Ryou and Keiichiro.

Unlike those in the list above, these characters only make a few appearances in the series.

"The Three Beckys" are three girls who used to bully Lettuce around and ordered her to investigate a ghost haunting their school at night. They are known as "The Three Beckys" in Mew Mew Power and they are unnamed in Tokyo Mew Mew, although one is referred to as "Aya" in Volume 1 of the manga.

Ichigo is able to say "I am a Ichigo" and the English equivalent of her name (Strawberry, ストロベリー sutoroberii), but then says – referring to the broom – "This is a pen". Lettuce runs to the Cafe for help, leaving Ichigo to speak to Mary. Fortunately, Masaya appears, and he translates to Ichigo that Mary is looking for Ryou. Ryou and Keiichiro come to greet Mary and invite her to the Cafe, where they tell the girls that they hired Mary to perform at an environmental ball and that they hope that the other two undiscovered Mews will appear. Masazou is desperate to prevent people from building a spa in the mountains where he grew up and tries many ways to stop them. He meets Ichigo, Mint, Lettuce, and Pudding and explains to them that the animals in the area will lose their home if the resort were built. Masazou befriended an otter – which he named Kawataro – during his youth, but the construction scared the otters, including Kawataro away. His spirit is stolen by Kish to form a Chimera Anima Kappa and his body is placed on a rock in the middle of the river. After the Chimera Kappa is defeated, he wakes up. She meets Ichigo, Mint, Lettuce, Pudding and Zakuro who send the boys on their way after one of them calls Ichigo a hag. Lettuce decides to teach Iruka how to swim, and the training ends up going horribly awry. Iruka blames herself for Lettuce almost drowning. Pie and Tart attacks the beach with a storm and four sea Chimera Animas and Iruka discovers that Lettuce and the others are Mew Mews. One of the boys that teased Iruka falls off the dock and Iruka dives in to save him. Lettuce dives in after them; she becomes a mermaid through the as-yet-unrevealed Mew Aqua, and saves both of them. After the ordeal, Iruka isn't afraid of the water anymore.

Mint transforms and tells Kanna to get away. Saionji replies by saying that she would never run away before Mint – causing Mint to slap her – as if she does not even understand she is in danger. After the Chimera Anima is defeated it is revealed that there is no Mew Aqua in the box — only tea Mint ordered. After the fight, the girls are drinking tea, and Ichigo tries to invite Kanna to join. She says that if she isn't careful, she could end up like Ichigo and then she calls Ichigo an Obaasan[4] which infuriates Ichigo.

Ichigo and Masaya discover upon leaving that Momoka mimics Zakuro's poses and Ichigo tells Zakuro about this.

Later, when they are passing the day in Mint's car, Ichigo, Mint and Zakuro discover that no one has picked Momoka up yet. That night, while she is there with her agents, Zakuro sees Momoka again at the restaurant. After hearing that her parents are not coming, Momoka runs out of the restaurant and Zakuro follows her outside and confronts her. Kish says he does not care and leaves, however not before Zakuro stops him and slaps him across the face. Momoka recovers and Zakuro returns the handkerchief and pendant, and Momoka's parents arrive.
