Cannon Hill Anglican College (familiarly known as CHAC) is an independent, co-educational, day school affiliated with the Anglican Church of Australia.
History
Originally named Cannon Hill College, the school was established in 1989, originally with only grades 8-12. The school's earlier motto "In God We Trust" had to be altered due to legal reasons in 1999 to "With Courage and Compassion". In 1994, the college decided to become affiliated with the Anglican Church, and added the "Anglican" to its name. Towards the end of the 1990's, primary grades were gradually introduced to the college, eventually including Years 4 through to 7. 2006 saw the enrolment at the college reach approximately 850 students [1] from Year 4 to Year 12.
Location
The campus is located on 11.5 hectares in Cannon Hill, which includes a 4.5ha border of protected melaleuca wetlands[2] which the college uses as an educational tool. A "wetlands festival" is held by the college every year as a way of increasing wetlands awareness[3], and the college joined the Land for Wildlife program in 1999[4].
Facilities
The college has a recently completed on-site auditorium, which can cater for up to 1,100 people. In addition, the music facilities include a fully equipped recording studio (completed in 2001 a state-of-the-art visual arts wing, including a pool theatre / seminar room and a complete graphics and industrial design courtyard containg some of the best computer equipment in the state.

Mission Statement
According to their official website, the Mission Statement for the college is as follows:
"Cannon Hill Anglican College offers a balanced approach to education, aimed at the development of the whole person — intellectual, social, physical, emotional, aesthetic and spiritual."[5]
Pastoral Care
The college prides itself on its quality of pastoral care, and has adopted Saint Francis of Assisi and Saint Clare of Assisi as its patron saints[6]. The college regularly conducts Eucharists and Liturgies[7] and has six houses, all named after prominent islands in Moreton Bay: Originally only four school houses existed (Moreton, Peel, Saint Helena and Stradbroke) however in 2002 two houses (Macleay and Russell) were added. The houses are consistent through both Primary and Secondary schools.
The school has its own Prayer and Hymn named "The College Prayer" and "The College Hymn" respectively. These are regularly used at College events and assemblies. The college also uses the English Language Liturgical Consultation (ELLC) version of the Lord's Prayer usually in conjunction with the College Prayer or independently.

Sport
The Associated Schools Sports
The college's sporting program is centred around membership of The Associated Schools. Apart from the core sports of swimming, cross-country and athletics, all TAS sport is played on Saturdays over 3 trimesters. Each trimester is approximately nine weeks.
