Rajura is a city and a municipal council in Chandrapur district in the Indian state of Maharashtra. It lies in the heart of Coal & Cement producing areas of Maharashtra.
Geography
Rajura is located at 19°47′N 79°22′E / 19.78°N 79.37°E[1]. It has an average elevation of 181 metres (593 feet). Rajura is located on the banks of River Wardha.

As of 2001 India census[2], Rajura had a population of 25,842. Males constitute 52% of the population and females 48%. Rajura has an average literacy rate of 72%, higher than the national average of 59.5%: male literacy is 77%, and female literacy is 67%. In Rajura, 15% of the population is under 6 years of age.
