Guidelines

Please read this notice before you post on my talk page.

On Wikipedia, talk pages are a form of communication between two different users. Talk pages are meant to discuss things related to Wikipedia, such as featured article nominations, administrator nominations, or miscellaneous information regarding articles.

  • Be polite. Insults and profanity will not be tolerated, and will result in a report to the administrators.
  • Assume good faith. If I make a stupid edit, then tell me nicely. I may react poorly if I sense any hostility from you, so this is fair warning!
  • No personal attacks. I bet you wouldn't like it if someone attacked you. Well, I don't like it either. So let's try to be nice, okay?
  • Do not bite the newcomers. Just don't do it. Never. It's not cool, and it never will be.
  • Always sign your messages with four tildes ~~~~. This lets me know who sent me what message.
  • Wikipedia is not MySpace. Please do not use Wikipedia as a discussion place for things other than Wikipedia related topics.
  • When you leave me a message, I will respond on your talk page. I will not respond here.

Thank you for taking the time to read these guidelines. I look forward to editing with you in the future! – The Obento Musubi (Contributions)

Never forgot the user. What happen to him/her? Rgoodermote  04:05, 31 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I hope she stills has intentions of returning. In case though in the morning I'll place the retired template on her userpage and talk page. Rgoodermote  04:10, 31 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Lets hope that is not the case. Rgoodermote  04:51, 31 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I blanked and added the retired tag to her user talk page and userpage Rgoodermote  17:40, 31 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Next month's newsletter

I'm thinking about writing a story on how people can help with incorporating info on the Hawaiian language more into WP and throughout all of the Wikimedia projects...would that be fine? It would go well with the theme. Singularity 09:32, 31 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The Random Acts of Kindness Barnstar
I award The Obento Musubi the Random Acts of Kindness barnstar for his continued kindness which is greatly appreciated on Wikipedia. — Rgoodermote  18:34, 1 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I warned you. Rgoodermote  18:34, 1 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

By the way, it was a bad April Fools joke. But you missed me reporting myself to WP:AIV for impersonating myself. Find it here Rgoodermote  18:35, 1 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Knew I wasn't the last one to do that stunt. Well I can stake the claim as being the first person to do it today. When I did it they thought I was being serious until Tiptoety removed it and noted it was a joke and then some one reported Jimbo Wales and it went from funny to hilarious. Rgoodermote  18:47, 1 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Leave it, it is worth it. Though I wouldn't do that often. Some one was threaten a block earlier. Spoke too soon [1]Rgoodermote  18:50, 1 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Scared the crap outta me

When I first saw you post with this name, I almost knocked over my desk thinking you were Obuibo Mbstpo, trying to hit the block button as quick as possible. Then I realized you weren't him and had a good laugh. MBisanz talk 07:12, 2 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

mistake on nomination

No worries. The barnstars were just part of a long argument to connect together all social iniciatives that have been deleted since Vintei's shop. Taking into account that you made one of the barnstars and that this was a nomination debate after all, it's understandable that you made that mistake, and you already apologized properly anyways.

About barnstars disappearing, the barnstars and userboxes are usually transcluded to the pages where they are (I think that it means that the link to the template gets replaced by the code on the template, so that it no longer gets affected by what happens to the template). I'm not sure how the process works. About the star images, that sort of images normally is left alone for historical purposes as long as there is even one page that links to it (under the "file links" section on the image page). That means that the barnstars that you gave away before the deletion will stay there forever. Only the really very disruptive stuff gets deleted mercilessly from everywhere where it appears.

The guestbook barnstars get deleted because of rewarding certain behaviour, and there was a consensus about it. The same consensus does not appear to exist around secret pages, but who knows how the situation will evolve with time. You better make some good work on mainspace articles so you can justify that you don't all your time on user space :) (altough looking at this [2], you appear to be safe already on that) --Enric Naval (talk) 10:16, 2 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

(compare with mine [3], I have more edits on article talk pages than you, because of arguing stuff on articles so much, lol, way less edits in "user", I suppose that because I never tweak my user page. You can compare taking into account that you your edit total is roughly 5 times my total, and then checking section by section to see if oyu have 5 more times edits there than mine or if you have a different proportion. For example, you have 5 times my edits on mainspace, so same proportion and then you have 100 times my edits on template space, amd some edits on template talk space, which I have never used, lol is there actually a talk page on templates? I have to check that. You have more average edits per page, so you concentrate on editing the same pages again and again when compared to articles where you make one or two edits. Recent change patrollers or new page patrollers usually have something can have something like 1.05 edits per page, and anti-vandalism fighters will have around 2 edits per page. If they have rollback or some automated tool like monobook-suite that simulates the rollback feature, that percentage goes to 1.5 and lower because they can revert multiple consecutive vandalisms on one single edit, and can warn lots of vandals that will only receive one warning ever from that user. If you look at the lists at the bottom, I can see that you edit mainly music archives on mainspace, while I edit all sort of stuff. You can also see that I argue again and again on the talk pages of the same articles, lol, the more polemic the more I edit there. On the wikipedia mainspace list, you can see that you edit on wikiproject hawaii and some stuff related a music article becoming featured article, while I edit on deletion debates and sockpuppet cases) So, erm, too long comment again. I hope this crash course on edit counting is useful to you. I'm back to my usual stuff. Cheers --Enric Naval (talk) 10:44, 2 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Man, do *not* delete this sort of templates [4], you are supposed to argue at the nomination page your reasons for keeping the page. Removing a xfD template (includes AfD, MfD, etc) does not stop the discussion, and makes you look bad --Enric Naval (talk) 10:20, 2 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I'm afraid that, if secret pages are decided to get deleted, yours has a fair chance of being one of the deleted ones. And, of course, the associated barnstar will also be deleted. In spite of Equazion's comment, barnstars like yours are so associated to the secret pages existance that they will probably fall with the pages themselves. This is obvious from the fact that Equazion himself placed the notice. Sorry for too long comments. --Enric Naval (talk) 10:27, 2 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
