Joe Diorio was born in 1936. He has performed with legends of jazz like Sonny Stitt, Eddie Harris, Ira Sullivan, Stan Getz, Horace Silver, and Freddie Hubbard. In recent years he has also recorded with modern performers like Robben Ford, Gary Willis, and fellow guitar education legend Mick Goodrick. Joe is a highly respected educator and currently teaches at the University of Souther California (LA. He was also co-founder of the Guitar Institute of Technology (G.I.T.). He has published five instructional books and released 10 albums under his name.[1][2]
