Sacrament is the Grammy Award nominated fourth studio album from the American metal band Lamb of God. Released on August 22, 2006, Sacrament debuted at #8 on the Billboard 200 charts with first-week sales of 63,000.[1]

The album was the top-selling metal album of 2006 and received the Album of the Year award from Revolver magazine. This was the second Lamb of God album (the first being As the Palaces Burn, 2003) awarded Album of the Year. Sacrament was nominated in the 2007 Grammy awards for best Metal performance. It has sold over 400,000 copies in the U.S alone.[citation needed]

Critical reaction

The album has been met with generally positive reviews from critics, with Kerrang! comparing it to Slayer's Reign in Blood album and Metal Hammer comparing it to Pantera's Vulgar Display of Power album.[citation needed]

The DVD was produced by High Roller Studios and directed by Doug Spangenberg, the same director from Lamb of God's Killadelphia DVD.
  • This is the first album to use a different font for the album name on the albums artwork. All cover writing is normally written in the Papyrus font.
