Adding information

I noticed tha you are adding many bits and pieces to various wikipedia articles without providing references to the source of information. Please take your time to review the most fundamental rule of wikipedia:Attribution. Please also consider registering as a user. It will be easier to talk to you. `'Míkka>t 22:20, 21 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Nivkh Origins

The Nivkh are currently believed to be mix of palieo-siberians that first emigrated from central Asia around Lake Baikal across Eastern Siberia. When the climate changed Tungus people moved in from Manchuria and dominated the peoples isolating the Nivkh. Due to intermarriage the nivkh gene pool was diminished such that the nearby Ainu, Naini, Ulchs, and Negidals of the lower Amur River dominate the genetic makeup of the Nivkh. Thus the tungus new comers intermarrying the diluted the near extinct gene pool that would eventually form the Nivkh, yet much of the isolate language and culture of the Nivkh remained intact.

Be careful of general encyclopedias, such as the oversimplified version from Britannica that probably hasn't been updated since gene tests have been published for the nivkh. I've read five different encyclopedias with articles on the nivkh and there always seems to be some inaccuracies that are explainable if one reads the books and journals devoted to the Nivkh. -Kain Nihil (talk) 07:26, 26 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

British Latin American

Thanks for your additions (and at Latino Canadian). Could you add a source as well? (Don't worry about formatting, if you're not yet familiar with the Wikipedia systems; I'll fix it.) It would really help. SamEV (talk) 20:55, 13 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I appreciate your willingness to help improve this page. However, I would recommend working on your edits in the "Talk" section of the page first, before publishing them on the page itself. That way, grammatical, stylistic, and factual problems could be corrected collaboratively before these significant changes are made to the information viewed by the public.--Jsorens (talk) 16:33, 14 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Yucca Valley, California

Please use footnotes to corroborate controversial material. Please do not reinsert it. It was deleted before for a reason. Otherwise it appears to be in violation of WP:OR and WP:POV. In other words, it seems that an editor may have just made these up or "observed" them. We insert neither observations nor made up fiction in Wikipedia. It is supposed to be an encyclopedia. Readers need to be protected against remarks that may be construed as opinion. A good place for opinion is a blog or some other website. Thank you. 20:34, 23 April 2008 (UTC)

Please refrain from making unconstructive edits to Wikipedia, as you did to Korean American. Your edits appear to constitute vandalism and have been reverted. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. Thank you. IndulgentReader (talk) 05:41, 4 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I apologize for only adding Margaret Cho to the list of famous Korean Americans. What's wrong with my edit? She's well known for her standup comedy alike Herbert Choy and Michelle Wie. I don't see your need to remove the edit and scolded me about it. +71.102.53.48 (talk) 06:07, 4 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I apologize if the message seemed offensive, but it's a standard warning. Your edit showed that you added Margaret Cho as part of the caption in the infobox. As you can see, she is not depicted. I believe it was your intent to add her in to be a part of a list of famous Korean Americans. IndulgentReader (talk) 06:13, 4 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Ethnic groups in Omaha

Thanks for your comment and your edits pertaining to ethnic groups in Omaha - I really appreciate them. It has been an uphill struggle to convince the Wikipedia community that these communities are notable enough to warrant encyclopedic entries, despite how many reliable sources there are supporting their various facets. You wouldn't believe how much resistance comes from editors in Omaha or Nebraska-at-large, either - or perhaps you might. Feel free to make any edits you choose, and if you are so inclined, register a username and join either WikiProject Omaha or WikiProject Ethnic groups to help other editors grow and strengthen WP in new ways! • Freechild'sup? 13:27, 7 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Please do not add content without citing reliable sources, as you did to List of U.S. state secession proposals. Before making potentially controversial edits, it is recommended that you discuss them first on the article's talk page. If you are familiar with Wikipedia:Citing sources please take this opportunity to add references to the article. Contact me if you need assistance adding references. Thank you. Sources are important

Your disdain for the idea that material should be sourced has gotten really old, and I see that half the messages here are about that (this is my second one). It's a real pain to have to source someone else's additions; at least when sourcing one's own, one has an idea of where that information was encountered. I again ask you to read WP:V, as well as some of Jimmy Wales's words concerning the importance of references.[1] SamEV (talk) 01:41, 18 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Everyculture.com is an excellent source to find anything to contribute in entries for articles about Costa Rican, Panamanian, Paraguayan and Uruguayan communities of North America. I apologize if I was apparently lazy and violated any copyrights by simply copying/pasting the info. from the pages to the articles, now I reckon to done that if I was caught may be illegal. Please forgave me and you can improve or include new entries to the very articles yourself if you want. Thanks SamEV and I will accept my punishment. + 71.102.53.48 (talk) 17:14, 24 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
