Biography

Cheryl Chin was born and raised in Singapore till the age of 13 before her family migrated to the USA in 2001. At 21 years of age, she put her studies on hold and returned to Singapore to pursue a career in acting.

Her first television debut was in 2002 as Angel Tan on the popular English comedy; School Days. Shortly after, in 2003, she emerged as Singapore's Female Champion in Star Search Singapore and received her first dramatic role in An Ode To Life as Weng Xiaoyun, a muddle-headed nurse who unexpectedly falls into a love triangle. An ode to life aired in 2004 on Mediacorp Television and later won the best dramatic television series award.

She went on to star in the 13 episode comedy series "The Cheer Team" which aired in 2004 as Miss Bai, a cheerleading teacher that was most inappropriate for the job. While shooting "The Cheer Team", she was offered a role on a would be popular teen idol television series. Two weeks into training, she was offered another role on and "The Best Bet", a 14 episode Singaporean television series as Lina Zhang, the love interest of both Christopher Lee's and Mark Lee's characters.

As her contract with Mediacorp, Singapore's national television studios came to an end in 2004, she wrapped up filming on "The Best Bet" and left back to America. The reason she gave was that she misses her family.
