1NWA records aren't clear as to which promotion Slater was wrestling for when any of his three reigns with the championship began. While usually defended in Southeastern Championship Wrestling, the title was occasionally used in other NWA affiliated promotions. The same situation applies to the NWA Southeastern Tag Team Championship. Records don't show where he and Orndorff were working when they won the titles.
