Proposed deletion of Bayley Gap

A proposed deletion template has been added to the article Bayley Gap, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised because even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. This page has been cleard to keep tidey (note this wil hapen once a week) Feel free to write what yo wish.

You have been accused of sockpuppetry. Please refer to Wikipedia:Suspected sock puppets/Omaga99 for evidence. Please make sure you make yourself familiar with notes for the suspect before editing the evidence page.

There are several problems with this page which I list below:

  • Although it appears to be a genuine term most of the references supplied look like they may be to pages you've created. They certainly don't show notability. I think many users have assumed from this that it is just an idea one person had and is not worthy of an article as it would be effictively just advertising your own idea. I do not know what your motives are behind this edit but at the moment I'd give you the benefit of the doubt that you've just created pages videos etc to show an accepted concept. If on the other hand you have just created the page as a means of promoting your idea (which it looks, to me, like you have done with Bayley Gap) then that would be against policy. For this page to stay you need to find sources that show this item is notable.
  • Links to youtube are normally against Wikipedia's external link policy. Hence the reason your edits which introduce these links have normally been reverted. Links to the other page will fail under the reliable source policy. You need to find some reliable sources for this page to stay.
  • It does not appear to be in the normal wikipedia layout. This automatically raises eye brows. Suggest you look at the guide to layout and other pages to get a feel for wikipedia's style. The page can stay without this but it will make people less suspicious.

At the moment I'm given you the benifit of the doubt in a big way. If you want to remain a wikipedia editor I suggest that once you are unblocked you try making the changes I mention above (follow the bold links to wikipedia policys and guidance). If you do not you are likely to get blocked for longer / indefinitely. I'd also suggest you make all the changes in one go by making use of the "show preview" button and only committing the changes in one big hit. This means other editors won't see small changes which are more likely to be considered vandalism. If you are a genuine editor I'd also suggest you deal with the sock puppetry case mentioned above this comment by following the links there. Dpmuk (talk) 11:24, 8 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
