Filigree & Shadow was an album released in 1986 by Ivo Watts-Russell's supergroup, This Mortal Coil. The supergroup consists of artists attached to the 4AD record label. The album peaked at number 2 in the UK Independent Music chart, spending 16 weeks in total on the chart having entered it on October 11, 1986.
Categorically speaking, this music is considered Goth, as the songs have been described as haunting and perhaps dark, though uplifting (the first vocal track, "The Jeweller", is a good example of this). Of the 25 tracks, 13 are instrumental including the track bearing the same name as the album.
