Day and Age is slated to be the title for the forthcoming third studio album by American rock band The Killers.[1]

Recording

The band is in the studio finishing recording the album, which is stated to be finished before the band plays Reading and Leeds in August 2008.[2] Flowers has stated that there is no concept for the third album yet.[3] However, he did say that the band should be heading to the studio in June and that it would be produced by Stuart Price. Flowers also stated in an interview with Q that he was excited to play a new song called "Tidal Wave", influenced by David Bowie's "Drive-In Saturday" and "I Drove All Night" by Roy Orbison. In an interview with NME, drummer Ronnie Vannucci said that they hoped to get it "all licked in by June".[4]

Work on the album has been conducted on an international basis, with demos made in Las Vegas sent to Stuart Price in London over the internet, who then calls back to discuss the recordings.[5]

Album Cover

MTV.com has said the album is slated for release sometime around November 2008. The Killers have recently selected Paul Normansell to do the artwork for the new album, which should include some of Normansell's artwork of rock hero and band favorite 'Robert Heart' of infamous Progressive Jazz band "The Utopian Daydream"
