Pammal (Tamil: பம்மல்) is a town in Kancheepuram district in Tamilnadu state of India. It is a populated neighbourhood of the city of Chennai in Tamil Nadu, India. Pammal is home to more than 250,000 people. Some world class leather skins are prepared in and around Pammal. It is very close to Chennai International Airport (MAA).Pammal also has good schools like St. Sebastian Matriculation Hr. Sec School, Sankara Vidhyalaya Matriculation School and Saradha Matriculation school. It is a very good place to live peacefully. It is also the birth place of Pammal Sambandanaar. Many departmental stores, hotels and coaching institutes like Prakash Institute which has produced many state toppers in Board Examinations is situated at Krishna Nagar, Pammal. Pammal is the second richest panchayat union in india after ambathur.

For an important residential area, the roads of Pammal are very narrow. Among these, Nalla Thambi Road and Kalaignar Road are the major ones. In the recent past the Pammal post office has been shifted to a new location at Sindhalamman koil street near the Pammal market Road.

It has the famous Twin Ganesh temple near pammal bus stop.

Akeeswarar & Amridhambai koil with Sooriamman koil, an ancient temple with a huge temple tank is situated in pammal. The temple and its tank were recently renovated with the public support. The temple tank is used by the walkers club for morning walking.

It has Sandhi Amman Kovil with siva temple in it.

As of 2001 India census[1], Pammal had a population of 49,744. Males constitute 51% of the population and females 49%. Pammal has an average literacy rate of 81%, higher than the national average of 59.5%: male literacy is 85%, and female literacy is 77%. In Pammal, 10% of the population is under 6 years of age.
