Hiya Jack. It will happen, ya mean Scottish independance? GoodDay (talk) 00:08, 26 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

If so? I hope ya'll (the Scots) choose to be a republic. GoodDay (talk) 00:12, 26 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

That's cool. GoodDay (talk) 00:16, 26 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Republic of Canada

Monarchy or Republic isn't something that's high on the Canadian radar screen. Most Canadians (IMO) don't even know we're a monarchy. In fact, if you asked the average Canuck, who's our Head of State? they'd likely answer back, What's a Head of State?. GoodDay (talk) 23:15, 26 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Canadian Monarchy: As a Canadian republican, I believe the lack of awareness of our monarchy, is why it exists (along with the fact, the monarchy is benign -i.e. no beheadings). Scotland independance: There appears to be an annoyance with what's seen as an English takeover of Scotland. Certainly, Longshanks treament of Scotland, left repercussions felt to this day. GoodDay (talk) 23:33, 26 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Just an observation. It doesn't appear as though Scottish independance is imminent. I'm guessing the UK isn't that easy to break. GoodDay (talk) 23:51, 26 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Errr, how much is a 1,000 pounds in Canadian dollars? GoodDay (talk) 23:57, 26 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

A 1,000 pounds seems like more then I have. So absolutely, Scottish independance is coming soon (perhaps as early as 2009). GoodDay (talk) 00:01, 27 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The potential loss of 1,000 pounds? makes me quite reasonable. GoodDay (talk) 00:04, 27 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I know ya wouldn't. But seriously though, I've no clue as to what will happen to Scotland. But at least this time it's in the Scots hands 'solely'. GoodDay (talk) 00:11, 27 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

William Wallace would be pround. GoodDay (talk) 00:17, 27 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Wow. GoodDay (talk) 00:22, 27 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The Tudors (tv series)

Hiya Jack. Trust me, CBC is very conservative in nature about 'sex' scenes. GoodDay (talk) 17:27, 28 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

They are indeed. Even the colourful language is strictly managed. GoodDay (talk) 17:36, 28 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I suspect, The Church Lady is at the CBC controls. GoodDay (talk) 17:45, 28 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Yikes. GoodDay (talk) 17:53, 28 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Wikipedia troubles

Hiya Jack. Earlier today, I experienced Wikipedia technical problems. Everytime I went to it (Wikipedia) the Wikimedia Foundation is having problems... page would pop up. That might be causing your troubles; if not, I suggest you contact an Adminstrator for help. GoodDay (talk) 16:39, 30 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

At times like that, one's page seems to take forever to change. GoodDay (talk) 16:41, 30 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Wikimedia Foundation is likely having tech difficulties in your area. Give it 'bout a 10-15 mins to straigten itself out. GoodDay (talk) 17:16, 30 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Not really. Ya simply create a new account, then inform the Administrators what happened with your old account. Call your new account (if you chose) Jack forbes II & request your old account be deleted. After that, you'd gradually explain to others who you are & were. GoodDay (talk) 17:31, 30 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Okie Dokie. These things happen. GoodDay (talk) 17:41, 30 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

No prob. GoodDay (talk) 19:50, 30 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Off Topic

It's easy to get caught up in off-topic discussions when someone says something out outlandish, but actually my comment wasn't really towards you as much as it was towards Vindobona and the immediate response after his. Vindobona had previously been warned of trolling both the United States and European Union articles (also using sockpuppet IP addresses pretending to be separate people); I almost just deleted his comments but felt I may be out of line this time for doing that. Kman543210 (talk) 00:40, 1 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Oh ye of more faith than I ;) Kman543210 (talk) 00:57, 1 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Socialism

I decided to talk here as it would be inappropriate to continue this discussion on the USA talk page, but do you really know what socialism is or what it does? National Socialism (aka Naziism) had all the good things you talked about and yet for some reason they had to be destroyed. What's the deal here?Prussian725 (talk) 17:00, 1 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Uhhh...that kinda resembles communism to me. In a capitalist system, the working-class does not need representation to retain its rights because no one is keeping them there but themselves. In America, if you want to work hard, sacrifice, and make an honest living and work your way to the top...YOU CAN!!!Prussian725 (talk) 03:00, 2 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

So one minute social democrats are Nazis, the next Communists. Who would have guessed? ;-) --Michael Johnson (talk) 04:44, 2 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Yeah, someones confused! Excuse me while I go goose stepping across red square. ;) Jack forbes (talk) 08:54, 2 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I worked my way to the top, have more money than you could throw a stick at, and still have a social conscience. PS; Is there really any need to shout? A little bit of calm goes a long way. Jack forbes (talk) 13:21, 2 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Video NHL games

I make sure I'm on his team (we take on the computer), that way I can win some. GoodDay (talk) 20:07, 4 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I've returned to Wiki-land. GoodDay (talk) 22:52, 4 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

IPs

There's a place (which I forget), but I'm not gonna take it that far. I haven't the energy for it. GoodDay (talk) 22:26, 9 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Jimbo Wales

Hi GoodDay, I have asked Jimbo about the ip problem, keep an eye out ,maybe there wil be a solution Jack forbes (talk) 01:17, 11 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

He may give his view on it. But, he tries to remain one of us on Wikipedia. Though he helped create the project, he doesn't have authority over it. GoodDay (talk) 01:26, 11 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Not completely true, look at some of the disputes around Peter Damien. --Snowded TALK 05:09, 11 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I've checked the discussion at JW's page; your best bets are to go to those pages that were pointed out. As mentioned mandatory registration hasn't gotten much support on Wikipedia. I'm just gonna ignore the IPs who refuse to register in & likely remove myself from any discussions they get too involved in. GoodDay (talk) 13:41, 11 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]
On reflection, I think I will leave it alone, it looks as though there have been numerous discussions on it and I can't see anything changing now.Jack forbes (talk) 20:13, 11 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]
(from Cameron's page) Honestly, JW isn't amune to Wikipedia rules. GoodDay (talk) 20:47, 11 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]
By the way, I just thanked JW for creating Wikipedia. Check it out. GoodDay (talk) 21:22, 11 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Giggle giggle. GoodDay (talk) 21:27, 11 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

puzzled

Hi Jack. I have no idea what your comment on my talk page is about. Did I miss something? 79.155.245.81 (talk) 23:59, 13 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Right. It's totally news to me that it might be an issue for Scotsmen! I never heard of it and confess to some surprise. Mind you, I remember sitting in several places in Scotland watching the BBC news refer to Manchester as "the north of the country" so I suppose terminology is important in many ways. Anyway, I don't thing going (ref) Jack forbes says so (/ref) would be sufficient. ;-) 79.155.245.81 (talk) 00:20, 14 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]
