Twenty20 English Premier League is a forthcoming cricket league in England and Wales to be run by the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB). The league will consist of two divisions of 10 teams including 18 county teams plus two overseas teams. It is rumoured that the two overseas teams will be a side fielded by Allen Stanford of the West Indies and the winners of the Indian Premier League.[1]
The first season of the EPL will be held in June 2010. The establishment of the EPL will also lead to the discontinuation of the Pro40 League [1], replacing it with a second Twenty20 League (a revamped version of the current Twenty20 Cup) to be held in July, August and September [2] and to be played primarily on Friday evenings [3][4]. The top two teams from the latter competition will qualify for the Twenty20 Champions League.
