Maria Rubia (born 20 December 1977, Norwich, Norfolk) is an English model, actress and singer who debuted as vocalist on the Fragma dance song, "Everytime You Need Me".

Biography

Born in UK,1981, MARIA moved with her family to southern France where she went to a French-speaking school. The family returned to the UK when Maria was 13 and she became a model and actress, appearing in several well known commercials.

Maria's family moved again to Spain but she remained in UK to pursue her dream of being a singer (which she had been doing since the age of two!!!!)

In 2004, Maria became pregnant with her son Brandon, giving birth would put her in a wheelchair. An x-ray revealed that her pubic bone had split apart during childbirth. She was diagnosed with a extreme case of symphysis pubis dysfunction(SPD). It would take 18 months for her to take her first steps again. Brandon walked before she did!Feature in papers and magazines to let other girls and women know about SPD. [1]

Maria is fluent in English, German, French and Spanish. Fully recovered she is back in the studio and making music,modelling and has just done a film in USA,named Eagle One,a spoof comedy film which she said was fun doing. She also came up with the idea of the Madeleine McCann fund which she passed onto the Family's best friend in the hope that it would aid them finding their beloved daughter and also other missing children all over the world. She has performed with many artists like Michael Jackson,Girls A loud,Elton John and many more. She loves performing live and has been trained in Opera. She co-wrote her debut solo single, "Say It", which was remixed by DJ Rob Searle. Rubia had four international hit singles from 2001-2005 and has sold over 4 million records worldwide.
