Reference formats

I changed it because it stuck out like a sore thumb. If you want to take the time and effort to change every single format go for it. Perhaps you'd be kind enough to give me some help using the new format when you have time. The one time I did try using it I made a mess and couldn't get it right. Rochfortbridge

Hi, I know you are trying to tidy up the articles and fair play, but, you have removed some census data and historical data from the Rochfortbridge Article... This Cencus data is accurate and actually important to those of Rochfortbridge as it has been the victim of planning abuse and this info assists them in their argument... Also, the links to development plans were put in to help find them as the county council website changed it's format and it's nearly impossible to find these files through browsing.. Also, a local historian put a lot of work into the history of the area which, as far as I can well is accurate and not disputed. Can we add this info back in and between us we will endevour to cite sources etc. Any ideas or help with this would mean a great deal to us!

Kind regards, --Wikidrone20000 (talk) 15:45, 23 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Motto of the day

Hello, I notice you're using one of the {{motd}} templates, run by Wikipedia:Motto of the day. You may have noticed that some of the mottos recently have been followed by a date from 2006, or on occasion simply "Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia". The reason for this is that Motto of the day is in some very serious need of help. Participation in the project, which has never been especially high, has dropped considerably over this past summer, to the point we have had several days where no motto was scheduled to appear at all. Over the past several weeks, I've been the only editor scheduling mottos at all, but there aren't enough comments on some of these mottos to justify their use. If we do not get some help - and soon - your daily mottos will stop. In order for us to continue updating these templates for you, we need your help.

When you get a chance between your normal editing, could you stop by our nominations page and leave a few comments on some of the mottos there, especially those that do not have any comments yet? This works very simply; you read a motto, decide whether or not you like it, and post your opinion just below the motto. That's it - no experience required, just an idea of what you personally like and what you feel reflects Wikipedia and its community. If you do have past experience with the project, then please close some of the older nominations once they've got a decent consensus going. There are directions on the nominations page on how to do this.

If you have any questions, please let me know, or post on the project's talk page. I'm looking forward to reading your comments on the suggested mottos, and any additional suggestions you'd like to make. Until then, happy editing! Hersfold (t/a/c) 01:41, 4 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Outrageous Fortune cast deletions

PLEASE EXPLAIN why are you removing the cast pages from the New Zealand television show 'Outrageous Fortune'!!!.... since when has the Wikipedia become a site for the 'USA' only?!! I thought the whole point was of Wikipedia was that it was a GLOBAL site, not solely for people living in the northern hemisphere. The only way it is going to be of use globally, is if there are people from our area making additions, but this of course takes time. I also think a better way of listing tv characters may be to have the show tied to the name as I have set up for some of them, which enables people to more accurately find what they are seeking... --Alcatelzknz (talk) 14:56, 15 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Respectfully, you should note that there have are factual inaccuracies in the previous version of the Canterbury University (of the Syechelles) article which can be proved and for which you appear to be primarily responsible. A prime example is the untrue statement that the website was the Official Website of Canterbury University. The edit made balances a previous slant and skew towards the negative which violates Wikipedia principle of neutrality. For example, you cannot mention accreditation, without putting accreditation in context. You cannot mention other institutions with the name Canterbury, without mentioning that they are sometimes erroneously called Canterbury University (your location in New Zealand may explain your bias)You cannot mention the ODA, without putting the ODA and Oregon Law in context. As it stands, the article fairly balances positive and negative comment, preserves neutrality and verifiable proof can and will be sent to Wiki administraters by offline means is this article is vandalised again.

D&D articles for Wikipedia 0.7

Hi there!  :)

As someone who's worked on D&D and/or RPG articles before, I'm inviting you to participate in our goal to both improve articles that have been selected to be placed in the next Wikipedia DVD release, as well as nominate more to be selected for this project. Please see the WikiProject D&D talk page for more details. :) BOZ (talk) 05:38, 23 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

/* About your recent deletions from the Usana article */

Please understand too ArglebargleIV, Rhode Island Red is a competitor to ours and he made significant changes to the page. The lawsuits removed were either dismissed due to lack of merit, or settled (with all USANA's conditions being met). Anyone can sue a company and make false claims...why should these claims still have merit on Wikipedia if the courts have thrown them out on lack of merit? A tag has been placed on Voodoo Tiki Tequila, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article seems to be blatant advertising that only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an encyclopedia article. Please read the general criteria for speedy deletion, particularly item 11, as well as the guidelines on spam.

If you can indicate why the subject of this article is not blatant advertising, you may contest the tagging. To do this, please add {{hangon}} on the top of Voodoo Tiki Tequila and leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would help make it encyclopedic, as well as adding any citations from independent reliable sources to ensure that the article will be verifiable. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Carcat66 (talk) 01:40, 8 November 2008 (UTC) We are requesting that you allow more time to clean up this article so others can contribute, just have they have done in the case of Casa Noble, Jose Cuervo, Don Julio, Partida Tequila, Cabo Wabo and many others that already have a wiki article. Please suggest some changes or necessary additions that you would like to see, So others' can add whatever is missing, but you may need some time for someone to contribute. There is a lot of interest in this brand and the company reports it doesn't have a wiki page. We on the boards (Ian Chadwick) do not understand why not. We are trying to pass along some facts about where and what this brand of tequila is.[reply]

Hi! Please leave this up a little longer so some of us on the boards can clean this up! Thanks :) —Preceding unsigned comment added by 66.32.67.179 (talk) 02:13, 8 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion

Hi, I was wondering howcome my article about Stockholm Guide & Crusie Services was deleted when there are many company articles on wikipedia, such as that of Princess Cruises? Looking forwards to your comments. Best, Marco —Preceding unsigned comment added by Marco giertz (talkcontribs) 22:27, 11 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, I had the same problem as above. The Article about eShakha has been auto deleted, even if it meets all wikipedia norms. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Herambk (talkcontribs) 03:43, 13 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

(1) I didn't delete any articles -- I'm not an administrator -- but I did recommend that the two article be examined for possible speedy deletion. (2) The Princess Cruises has many references, talks about the history of the company, indicates its importance (as a early leader in cruising and part of the largest cruising company in the world). The Stockholm Guide & Cruise Services (deleted by User:Stephen) was nothing but advertising. If you want an article about that to stay, you need to discuss why it's important, why it's notable, and not be advertising. (3) The EShakha article was nothing but advertising (a how-to and why-to guide), and did not meet Wikipedia norms. -- ArglebargleIV (talk) 14:10, 13 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

APFBA

Why are you deleting this article when it meets wikipedia norms and should be protected from deletion as it is particularly important information to help encourage regulation of the buying agent industry. Please think it through before deleting.

The Association of Property Finders and Buyers Agents (APFBA.org) is the industry body for UK and International property finders and buyers agents. It is a non-profit organisation.

The APFBA body is particularly important for the buying agent industry as it seeks to improve the standards of professionalism in a largely unregulated market.

APFBA Members voluntarily agree to follow a professional Code of Conduct. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Fredwilson7 (talkcontribs) 19:10, 13 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Responding on your talk page. -- ArglebargleIV (talk) 19:13, 13 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Dear arglebargle. thanks, but apfba is extremely important. How can it not be? with over 5million people worldwide employed by companies in this industry, which has gone for so long without regulation. please reconsider and reinstate the apfba page. ~~fredwilson7~~ —Preceding unsigned comment added by Fredwilson7 (talkcontribs) 19:22, 13 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I need to learn how to use wiki correctly. In trying to do the right thing and give a reference for a medical device I made the Conceivex page and now it is being taken down. I do not want to have Conceivex be considered spam. Can someone help me as regards to this. I was trying to put in the correct references with the warning came up Lhsurge (talk) 15:16, 19 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, Yes, I actually wrote the content on the site & should have included proof but was unsure how to do that. I did start a unique one today, but it was deleted as the person deemed the content not worthy of having a wiki! I appreciate your patience. best- --Prettydigital (talk) 18:36, 20 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, for your information I did not add the link to the Teen Witch website, as you can see in the history page it has been added years ago I believe. So please get your facts straight and quit acting like a pathetic geek who knows it all, when truly you don't. And for your pathetic information the Teen Witch site did have the new first news about the soundtrack, and the new rerecording of Cindy Valentine's track. Which you could careless about. DO yourself a favor and get new hobbies like get laid.

your suggestion

Yeah, you find something... no bios on even IMDB or such competing websites... think she went the mommy route, as she's not acted since '99. This seems best consequently. // FrankB 23:06, 23 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

  • I must say, you'll make a fine bureaucrat or academic someday. Can't you pick something respectable to aim for? The last thing the world or this project needs is another rules mechanic. No wonder the admin turnover rate is so damn high. // FrankB 02:33, 24 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]
  • "Get a life." Wow, the creativity just OOZES out of that. Golly, I've really been told off now.
Sigh. Ya know, I have half a mind to just go ahead and make the damned stub, since, at least, there's enough there to make a stub and to keep it around. But, if you don't care, why should I? The RFD will proceed, with one result or another. -- ArglebargleIV (talk) 02:42, 24 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Can you help me out then?

If you don't want them to help me out, can you? I don't understand why you are threatening me when I only want a little help to make Wikipedia a better place. Lolattack69 (talk) 04:16, 30 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Are you an atheist? Because I have noticed some of your 'mottos' and some of your fairly racialy discriminating response to those of the black community. Face the truth, we are a multicultural society, so stop being racist. There is nothing wrong with black people
