This is an old revision of this page, as edited by 97.113.60.87 (talk) at 05:15, 9 February 2009 (Since he was born and grew up in Bosnia and Herzegovina he would be described more accurately as having been a Bosnian Serb rather then simply a Serb writer). Branko Ćopić (Serbian Cyrillic: Бранко Ћопић; January 1, 1915 – March 26, 1984) was a Bosnian Serb writer. He was an ethnic Bosnian Serb born in the village of Hašani, near Bosanska Krupa in Bosnia and Herzegovina. He attended schools in Bihać, Banja Luka, Sarajevo and Karlovac before moving to Belgrade to study philosophy until 1940. His books have been translated into English, German, French, and Russian, and some of them have been turned into TV series and feature-films. He committed suicide on March 26, 1984 in Belgrade by jumping off of Branko's Bridge (named after Branko Radičević).

He was featured on the 0.50 Bosnia and Herzegovina convertible mark bill, which has been withdrawn from circulation and replaced with coins.
