Haha, very funny. I don't not hate Britain. I live there. But nevermind. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Filper01 (talkcontribs) 10:23, 28 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

[gulp] You live in Britain? Heh, sorry, I didn't mean all that... -k

It dosen't really matter. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Filper01 (talkcontribs) 10:26, 28 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I guess you're right. At least your nation doesn't have to deal with Obama. :) -k —Preceding unsigned comment added by 96.28.58.121 (talk) 10:28, 28 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Of course. I come from Scotland. That's in Britain —Preceding unsigned comment added by Filper01 (talkcontribs) 10:31, 28 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

That's the place with the bagpipes and kilts, right? But in modern times Scotland is probably more modern. -k

Yes it is. But we still have that stuff nowadays. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Filper01 (talkcontribs) 10:34, 28 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Yeah, I didn't notice a lot of cutting-edge technology coming out of Scotland, but it's not like it's a million years old. -k —Preceding unsigned comment added by 96.28.58.121 (talk) 10:37, 28 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Yes. The actual country was formed in 843, but what's know Scotland was formed about a billion years ago. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Filper01 (talkcontribs) 10:39, 28 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Oh, I didn't know that. The States have only been around for like 200 years. I haven't really kept up with world history. :( -k —Preceding unsigned comment added by 96.28.58.121 (talk) 10:42, 28 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Scotland went into personal union with England in 1603, and they formally unified in 1707. Ireland entered the union in 1801, but the south broke off in 1921. However Ireland was still in personal union with the UK. In 1949, Ireland became a republic.

Before 843, the north was mainly Pictland, a minority of the west was Dalriada, and the south was mainly part of Northumbria.
