Darr (Hindi: डर, Urdu: ڈر, translation: Fear) is a 1993 Bollywood film directed by Yash Chopra. It is the story of an obsessed lover (Shahrukh Khan) and the lengths he goes to get his true love (Juhi Chawla) who's already married to her husband (Sunny Deol). Incidentally, the film was originally offered to Aamir Khan, who was due to play the role of Rahul but because of the negative associations with the character, Aamir later decided to pull out of the film. It was then offered to Ajay Devgan, who also pulled out. In the end, Shahrukh Khan was finalised for the role of Rahul and it began the successful relationship between Yash Raj Films and Shahrukh Khan. The film is considered one of Shahrukh Khan's best performances and won him acclaim from critics and audiences alike.
