Snake: Solid or Not?

Isn't the character for this game just "Snake", not Solid?

It's Solid Snake in the first game, so I'd expect it to be Solid Snake in this one too. You might've gotten Snake because the health/ status bar says Snake on it?
Nevermind, the official website dubs him "Snake"
The characters name is "Solid Snake", although you can just say Snake as well. TJ Spyke 23:24, 31 March 2006
The official name is simply Snake. He is NOT Solid Snake. I went throug the entire article and changed this.--Johantheolive 03:28, 17 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Does not every "Snake" have a adjective before it? This one cant be Solid, because Solid probably wont live until 2018+ so this is prolly just a new clone.Qwerasdfzxcvvcxz 14:55, 13 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]
You're both kinda wrong. Although, the Snake in MGA2 is only referred as "Snake" in the game, the concept drawings of the characters refer to him by his full codename, "Solid Snake", anyway. Also, the MGA series follows a different continuity than MGS series, which is why Snake is an old man during the 2010s in MGS4, but still young in MGA1. Jonny2x4 15:22, 6 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
@Jonny2x4: You're wrong, play both games first. This is not Solid Snake and when considering the speculation about how many years have passed since MGS2 till the events in MGS4 (X, not XX) then the continuity might be just fine (though it still might be a spin off nonetheless). Snake's identity got explained in MGA2, chapter 11 (just before the fight with Metal Gear Chaioth Ha Qadesh). // philemon, 02 Feb 2007 —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 194.237.142.21 (talk) 09:56, 2 February 2007 (UTC).[reply]
I know this is a year late, but who the funk cares. I'm not wrong. I never said he is the "real Solid Snake". I simply said he is referred as Solid Snake in the concept designs of the character for the game. I was already fully aware he is a clone in this game. Anyway, Metal Gear Acid 2 is NOT part of the MGS canon, so events of MGS4 has no bearing in the game and vice versa.Jonny2x4 (talk) 00:47, 5 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

CQC?

The page lists using CQC techniques on enemy soldiers as a new feature. There were CQC cards in the previous MGA game, so is this something else or is the page in error? --James 10:56, 5 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Might be some different functions. -- Psi edit 22:39, 20 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

MGA2 has many more CQC cards such as a combat knife, punches, kicks, choke moves, etc. It is also more free in allowing the player to attack after movement--Johantheolive 14:18, 24 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

There should also be an entry on how to Transfer pictures taken in Metal Gear Solid 3: Subsistence to the PSP as this information cannot be found in the manuals or online to my knowledge.

I added a section the MGS3 connectivity, although the how-to was removed as being "un-encyclopedic" (I agree). How to do it can be found in the downloadable manual for the game which is linked to at the bottom of the article--Johantheolive 14:20, 24 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Metal Gears name

Isn't it Qadosh? Thats what i saw in the US version. Its mentioned in the cutscene after the cargo train mission

Yeah, I agree there. Lewis the Ger 10:35, 24 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Solid Eye/Autostereograms

I haven't played MG:A2, but reading about the Solid Eye thing, it looks like the game uses the autostereogram technique(known more commonly as Magic Eye). Thus, the Solid Eye isn't actually needed to notice the 3d effect, though it might be helpful for beginners. Might be worth mentioning in the article. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 77.114.132.158 (talk) 23:12, 28 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Metal Gear Ac!d 2

I've added this: "(promoted with an exclamation mark as Metal Gear Ac!d 2)" after the show's title, as per the conclusion reached in Talk:WALL-E, which was promoted, also typographically incorrectly, with an interpunct/middledot (as WALL·E). Dario1250 (talk) 22:20, 18 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

More Detail in Gameplay

I've read the message that states the plot summary is too long and updated the gameplay section. Will this satisfy the article?69.117.184.58 (talk) 14:29, 5 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]
